GTA 4 crashes during Easy As Can Be Quest

Everytime I go collect the car it crashes to desktop. How to fix this please?

I got this to work by setting all graphics settings to the lowest values and the distance for everything to 30. The resolution I kept on full HD. Afterwards I just set everything to max again.

Thanks! Your fix worked for me! Also make sure you press enter once you get to the garage so that Nicko doesn't get stuck inside

In my case framecapping to 30 FPS in MSI Afterburner helped. Played on max settings (did not not lower anything). I had no mods installed when I did the FPS trick to bypass this mission.

I tried GTAIV.EFLC.FusionFix mod because it has an option to have gameplay at 60 FPS and cutscenes at 30, but it didn't help with the crash, I later removed this mod.

Having tried everything, the only thing that helped me was setting the game to 30 fps via fusion fix (not the cutscene fps, but the entire game, since the crash happens during game engine footage and not a prerendered cutscene). I set FPS to 30, collected the car and waited for the bad guys to come out and then immediately set it back to "off". I hope this helps someone who decides to play the game in 2023.
