TBoGT crahed in the only one mission

The game crashes to the desktop during the mission "At the Crosshair".

As you know, in GTA 4 there are problems that are associated with too high FPS. For example, when during the final mission Niko has to climb into a helicopter, but the game will not allow you to do this. Or when on a mission with Louis’s mom you get an endless load. I have a good computer and my FPS goes 100+ always, so I set 50 Hz and turn on vertical sync. It always helped me with all the bugs in this game.

But here is another case. When I am on the roof and shoot snipers at this mission in The Ballad of Gay Tony, "At The Crosshair" , I just crashes the game to the desktop, no matter what FPS I have.

Gears:
i7-8700k up to 5.0GHz
64 GB RAM
RTX 2070
GTA 4 complete edition installed on HDD Western Digital Red 3 TB

Please, can you help me with this problem?

I locked FPS on 30 :)

Thanks it worked.

Had no idea how to do that. Here's what i found on google and did for those with the same problem

Create a text file named "commandline.txt" and place it into the root of GTAIV's installation directory.

mine : \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV

Open up the commandline.txt file in notepad and add these two entries:

-refreshrate 30
-framelimit 1

This doesn't work. I've tried 30, 60, vsync on, vsync off. It just doesn't matter what I do. I've tried mods, I've tried no mods. It just crashes the same way on the same mission every time. Rockstar will never get a dime from me again.

Sorry for the necro, but if anyone is still struggling with this mission, try setting "view distance" in graphics options to 1. Having it at a high value seems to make the game crash on this mission.

Hello everyone, i've been having this issue and tried pretty much everything that was mentioned and they didn't work for me.

What worked for me was just lowering every graphics setting to the lowest point that you can for the mission. This worked perfectly for me and i hope it does the same for all of you.

I was about to give up, I did everything they said too, and none of the methods worked, I saw your comment about putting everything on minimum and I told myself that it would be the last attempt, I was stuck on this mission for 3 days, and I finally managed to complete it by putting everything on low, thanks for sharing this solution.
