GTA IV gets black screen on startup, then immediately minimizes.

Hey,

I know this game has a lot of problems and I fixed most of them reading the guides here. Thank you for that!

But I still can't play the game.

Now whenever I launch it, I get a black screen for about 3 seconds then it minimizes and stays there. If I try to maximize it goes black and minimizes again. I'm on windows 10 and have more than anough specs to run it.

I couldn't find this particular problem anywhere. Can you guys help me out?

try remove settings file.
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Settings

or reload/reinstall video adapter driver at device manager.

or maybe command to do windowed mode , then set correct resolution and refreshrate for screen.

-windowed :Force windowed mode

I can't launch the game via steam, it just doesn't do anything. I try and launch it from launchgtaiv.exe.

What should I do with those commands? do a commandline.txt and stick it in the root folder?

My game gets a black screen after i minimize out of it and come to play again
