I have gta iv and it asks me for an activation code, the problem is that I don't know where to find it

Normally you wouldn't have to search for it because it's automatically activated. This must be one of the many problems of the Rockstar Launcher that I've heard about.
First of all, try linking your Steam account to your Social Club account. If this doesn't work I have another method in mind (although I doubt this will work): in your Steam library, right click on GTA IV > Manage > CD Keys.
