[FIXED] cannot reach main menu

Hi all, just downloaded this to finally play TLAD, the game starts, the first wall of text appears but it stays there. if I alt-tab it, it goes to the second wall of text, but again, stays there. alt-tab again and I can ear the rockstar logo music playing but can't see it. if I alt-tab again nothing happen.

is anyone getting the same thing? I'm running win10 on a laptop

EDIT: I was able to get to the menu where I can choose between vanilla and LCS, but that one is not responding to any input : keyboard, mouse (no pointer) or gamepad

-Go to the installation folder.
-Right click on GTAIV.exe and enter its properties screen.
-Under the compatibility tab, tick Disable fullscreen optimizations and click OK.
