Newest patch - VRAM 512MB limit !!
I've no idea how to change that limit, before the update I had added "-availablevidmem 4048" but now it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Put a commandline.txt file in the game's directory, and put that line in there with Notepad

It is a very old problem.. but never been fixed by Rockstar. It looks like that those updates by Rockstar in recent years make the game much more worse, not only in GTA4 also in RDR2

At least they fixed the colors, the game now looks more vibrant and colorful without changing the display settings.

I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I always added these to the launch options in steam "-nomemrestrict -norestrictions"

You lot need to try again. I just dropped "-windowed" into the game folder's command line and it launched in windowed mode. Make sure it's Grand Theft Auto IV, not GTA EFLC.

Doesn't work too :(. Well I've to live with medium textures unfortunately. But I think it's still a lot better than on PS3 which I've completed lol

it's not like there was any performance advantage to getting the game to use more VRAM, it only ever used ~1GB no matter how much VRAM you could get the game to see. Also it's a 32bit .exe, so it can only use....like 2GB anyway?

the bigger question will be the problems with simply getting the game to run, since I remember GPUs that had more than 1GB of VRAM needed the -nomemrestrict in order to even work properly IIRC....

I'm downloading it now, with 4GB VRAM rx 570, will see what happens

Commandline doesn't work. Every time I launch the game it wants to install Social club even though it's been installed on my computer for years. For some reason the game logs in to my old social club account. Everything completely sucks. ♥♥♥♥ you R*
