GTA 4 Xbox Account?

Well, i played in the good old days GTA 4, and now i wanted to play it again, but this message pops up: "Create your Xbox Account yet?

This game requires an Xbox account to save game progress and play multiplayer. If you have not created your Xbox account yet, please visit:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pre-existing Microsoft or Live accounts may not work. We recommend creating a new account as directed.". I already had an really old Xbox account, but then made a new one, like in the ''IMPORTANT NOTE''. On the bottom of the header it says ''Cancle'' ''Create a Xbox Account'' and ''Start Game''. When i press ''Start Game'' the header window closes and nothing happens. If i press ''Create a Xbox Account'' it just opens the directory of Grand Theft Auto IV. Anyone can help me?

ok so when you go in the game hit the home button on your keybord and hit live and sign in with your xbox account and then you have it it will show when run the game

GFWL isn't (properly) installed. Install GFWL:
Go to the directory: steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV\Installers and run 'XLiveUpdate.msi' to install GFWL

If you don't have an Xbox account, you can create one for free on Xbox.com or via the Xbox app on Windows 10.

If you have any mods, scripthooks and the like, installed; remove them.
They are probably not compatible with the current 1.0.8.0 version of this game and this will prevent the correct launching of the game.

A couple of years back. I believe this particular text in the launcher prompt started with the 1.0.8.0 update of this game. (I could be wrong, but it really doesn't matter.)

As a general FYI:
Ever since the Windows LIVE (game) services were discontinued by Microsoft, Xbox accounts are now exclusively mandatory. (Well, only if you want to play this game's official multiplayer feature. Creating a local/offline account with GFWL also still works for the single player campaign.)

Microsoft now uses the 'Xbox' name as the general flag for their games distribution and related services for PC (and of course the consoles).
