gta iv requers a sound card in order to run!!

So when i click play, this mensage shows up, now i´ve tryed everything but it just does not seem to work
i re-installed the game, re installed the audio drivers, Xlive programs but nothing works
and i cant find solution anywere
PLEASE HELP ... i cant get my money back anymore man... hauehaeu////////

Dude, I just typed "GTAIV requires" into Google and autocomplete took me to lots of pages about this problem. Are you new to using the internet?

I think the game isn't detecting your soundcard for whatever reason. Not sure where to poiint you!

6 years later on I still cant find a fix that works..
anyone found a solution?

Right click the sound icon on the taskbar > Sounds/Sound control panel > right click the device you're using > advanced > change the sample rate to 48000 or lower > Apply > Ok

I guess because it's an older game it doesnt support higher sample rates.

This fixed it for me!
Thanks so much. It worked when i used my Bluetooth earphones too as must have been on a lower sample rate
