GTA IV not starting fix

ok guys, this is how i fixed it. first you check your gta IV folder for a file called xlive.dll. if you dont have it, do this: first download x l i v e l e s s from this link

next, open the archive with 7zip/winrar by right clicking it. then find the xlive.dll file. now open your gta IV folder

for me i get to it by going to local disk (E:) / steam / steamapps / common / grand theft auto IV / GTA IV

now simply place the xlive.dll file into your GTAIV folder and press play and it should work

super simple, hope it works for you

Using this you will be unable to play online. This "Fix" is considered illegal as this bypasses the Games For Windows Live DRM

This fix does not have support for online functions.

i never told anyone to download the entire x l i v e l e s s thing, just to use one folder from inside.

It's a DLL that bypasses drm.. Still illegal even when partially used.

I downloaded Games for Windows Live. It's running, my Xbox account is open, my Social Club account is open, all of them succesfully linked to each other. And nothing happens, the game stops in the first legal advice screen. GFWL is doing nothing. Patience or refund? Bought the game yesterday, took the risk in W10 even knowing that there are a lot of problems.

If the game stops in the legal advice screen, quit the game with taskmanager. If you restart it again some people get a black screen but you just have to wait, and then the game pops up fine and GFWL too.

I already solved it. Took al .exes (GTA IV, Launch GTA IV, EFLC and Launch EFLC), compatibility, check Disable Full Screen optimizations and execute all exes in compatibility with Win XP SP3. Both game work perfectly now, including online.
