So.. I loved SAMP and I still do but I wish IV had as good an MP as SA did.

Anyway, is there any way to make a third party server host, similar to SAMP, for IV?

The reason for IV and not V is because they're still making money off the V multiplayer. So, Rockstar wouldn't be (in my opinion) as adamant on taking down such a mod for IV as they would for V.

I love the dark vibe IV gives off anyways, so starting an Italian mob in NYC would be wonderful.

Any reason why no one has made such a mod for IV?

I think that's dependent on the server owner, most third party servers are hosted locally in people's homes.

The larger ones are usually on paid servers which ask you to donate to keep up the service.

Much like the bigger minecraft servers.

The problem mostly is bandwidth and how much is to spare before there will be issues on the server owners side, resulting in lag spikes, sync loss, etc

But it already does. IV's multiplayer is leagues ahead of SA's community made ones imo. The simple fact that is has NPCs from Singleplayer (traffic, pedestrians and cops) opens up a whole new world of possibilities that were missing from SAMP and MTA. Not to mention the game modes. Anyways, there is a third party client for IV, it's called Citizen IV, and it's the only good alternative multiplayer client available.
