GTA IV SecuRom Error(3000)

I have this error: " A security module cannot be activated. this program cannot be executed (3000).
I cant solution this problem, help pls :(

Run Steam as Administrator. Or set the game to run as administrator.

My problem was "the software process explorer was running in the background" and prevented SecuROM from starting... Beside that...it's pretty useless. SecuROM servers are partly deactivated. Tested for few games now. In this case you have to visit their supportsite and do a manual activation. They also offer serveral support sites for different games.

Abandoned copy protections are such a pain. Thanks Sony and Rockstar. Bet same will happen to Denuvo one day. Same company :/

Just got this error yesterday. AfterI restart my comp the game will startup but after some time the error will come back. If I don't want to restart I have to reinstall the visual c++ 2005 redistributable. Lame
