Settings to Turn Down?
What settings take up the most fps?
For example, very high vs high shadows, where very high runs choppy while high runs perfectly fine
How about the other settings (the bars, view distance, detail distance, vehicle density) what should I set them at instead of 100?

view distance affects cpu usage, so if youre cpu bottlenecked turn that down

Getting a new computer in 2 weeks
main specs are GTX 1050TI, i5 6500 @3.2 ghz, 8gb ddr4 ram etc.
no bottlenecks really and a pretty decent PC that can run GTA v at ultra 60+ fps
But as you know, rockstar don't exactly have great optimization for all their games so I'm worried I might have to turn things down lol

Very high shadows tend to be the culprit for most performance issues. My old 750 Ti could run it nearly maxed out at 60 fps. Except for shadows of course.

Even maxing out the draw distance sliders only brought my framerate down about 10 fps.

do you by any chance now the best settings for the sliders?
Pretty sure vehicle density barely affects your fps as your rendering cars and nothing else but what about view/detail distance? Should it be turned down to like 50?

for 1050: view distance - 20-35, detail distance 15-35, vehicle density 20-50 (its stutter sometimes if there are a lot of cars). i think its best for u, but u always can increase params. other settings can be set to the max exept night shadows. i mean with this settings u can reach smooth 60 or more. v-sync was at 53 before the last patch and fps drops below 60 even on the gtx 1080. last patch is good.

I'd set them to about 45-50. Anything above that is just overkill.

So, everything maxed out except shadows (including night) and the sliders?
