Ríght... I'd like to play GTA4 again, but I can't. Can anybody help us?
-noprecache -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -novblank
I'll need to test it one more time to be really sure it fixes it.
Apparently it's important that you leave the small popup window from steam that shows the cd-key open. Do not close it. I was able to play the game, but I did close the window and the game froze immediatelly. I did check the box for "dont show this to me again" and i cant get it back. So...
But a sure method that lets you play (althou pretty laggy method) is to launch the game with your integrated graphics card. But it laggs like hell. I'm running Nvidia gtx960m as my default graphics card. I tried to install older drivers versions and it did not help.
I'll get back to you later.
So I did reinstall the gme for the 5-7th time. And all of a sudden the game runs smooth. That commandline was not even needed. You need it only to change graphics settings if the game does not recognize the correct VRAM ammount.
I'm really baffled. Do not know what fixed it. Sometimes thou it helps to minimize the game and open it again right at the moment the game freezes.
What you should try is right click on the game in steam, click Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity Of Game Files
Hope some of this helps. I tried to fix it for quite some time and got no answere what was wrong at the first place. Just reinstalled it, and now it runs. :(
I'd tried to reinstall it. I did it once. And nothing changed. Every time I tried "Verify integrity". Nothing changed. I don't know what to do. What did you mean with that VRAM ammount. Where did you change it? Please, I need some very detailed manual for this.. Please... I am lost!
1st try to run your game with ur integrated graphics card. Maybe urs is more powerfull than mine. It should run. Lower ur graphic settings. Right click on game launcher -> run with graphics processor -> Integrated graphics.
Did you read my 2nd post? Read it and do what i wrote there. Make a "commandline" .txt file in the GTA4 folder that contains the following:
-noprecache -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -novblank
Well.. I don't understand logic of my graphics card. 2 months ago I've played GTA4 on high details. And now, I cant. I tried integrated graphics - it works. I tried with NVidia GeForce Experience to Optimalize GTA4 (on low details) - it works. But, when I wanted to have higher details - it freezed again. I dont know what to do with that...
Create a *.txt file in GTA4 map with the name "commandline". Open it and write inside:
-noprecache -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -novblank
Close it and press "save". Now you're good to go. I had it a bit more complicated than this. It did not work for me even on optimized settings. Dont know how...
Hope this helps.
See ya.
Nope, same problem... I dont know what to do... I am lost, totally.. Can anybody help us/me, please? I'd like to solve this .... something.. Thank you
Quick question, is everyone else using Windows 10 and installed the recent update? Was working fine until then...
Yeah, I am using Win10 and I installed the recent update... I think it is one of the problems..
So, did you solve that problem or not?
I did remove all the commandlines I used for modern graphic cards to work after the update, since they are not needed anymore after the update, and did that before I started the game. It has been working excellent ever since.
So, please, what did you do exactly? Can you desctibe me that, please?
Thank you!
