[FIX] For those on Windows 8.1 and your game keeps crashing

If like me you recently started playing this game and it crashes for you, Rockstar released a patch to fix this problem.

PATCH: Click here [support.rockstargames.com]

However many people got an error that says "1628: Failed to complete installation" and the patcher could not run properly. I extracted the exe from the patch so all you need to do is put it in your game directory and everything should be fine.

I have the same patch 1,200 without even downloading it from rockstar website, maybe this is for retails copy.

it's a false positive then. I can assure you this isnt malicious but anyways, if you dont feel safe doing it then dont use it. Simple as that.

Another thanks here! I had some problems with textures not loading, game crashing whilst loading, and just general crashing but this patch sorted it out! I'm running the game on windows 8.1 as well if this helps anyone :)

Yeah I stopped playing this game because it eventually crashes at this particular level and there is no way around it, so I gave up on it. Its a real shame, i actually wanted to play this game to the end, it was enjoyable while it lasted

It is capped at 30 but there's a guide that shows you how to uncap it to get 60 fps
