It would be nice to be able to look at the dice in the inventory at any time to help plan for future encounters

So I had to save at the start of the battle then shut down. Came back a few hours later , tapped continue, Black screen , the druid no longer in the character row on the bottom of the screen . Could access the party bu could not progress further. I Think I hit a bug....

I noticed that sometimes after a battle, I get a lot of dice that say "Bonus" and other times I just get a couple dice. How are those bonus dice determined and is there a way to increase my chances of earning them?
