The custom template in Star Link is nice, but by comparison, they're a lot more limited in variety.
I'm not suggesting you can run all season mechanics simultaneously. I'm suggesting that they all become available and you can pick one for your run.
Although that user experience is shared by me, I'd praise the dev's effort on the UI in season 4.
Season 3's UI design and demonstrated nothing as substantial as season 4. Season 4 link menu is much more refined than season 3's affix menu
cant you allready do that?
i can pick a season mechanic before i start my run and play that mechanic, or atleast i think thats how it works, i didnt play the se1-3 but i can pick one of them or pick regular play when starting a run
Someone plays season 3? Well now everyone has to fight demonized enemies, but non-S3 players just get useless eggs.
Someone plays season 2? Well now everyone must face off against dimension portals, except only players from S2 are effective against them thanks to mechanisms dealing extra damage to the portals.
Someone plays season 4? Everyone better enjoy getting pelted by rocks during boss fights. Unfortunately your reward for non-S4 players is useless scrolls and fancy looking owls to do nothing with.
I mean, depending on how serious the balancing is with fighting dimension portals or demonized enemies, they could be tweaked to be a little easier to fight for those not utilizing their respective mechanics.
