The company is infamous for doing this, as they did the exact same thing with the console ports of Terraria.
Is there a reason they're doing this?
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything that could explain 505's dimmisive attitude towards the console port. Don't quote me on this, but apparently they simply took the money and ran, as they didn't find updating the game profitable.
Last I heard, there has been a lengthy legal battle to reclaim the console port for the original developers, but so far, nothing.
And the worst part is that some people keep on complaining towards the original developers instead of 505, with rather ridiculous claims like "just buy back the console port rights lol". I mean, seriously? Of course, I'm talking about Twitter, where common sense goes to die...
I was also kinda guessing that indeed just wanted to do a quick porting job and not deal with future support at the same level while not wanting another party to steal away what they did but that just remains a wild guess.
