most commonly used weapon stat?

is it bugged, or am I just misunderstanding how it tracks it? when I look at each character, and my overall profile, as far as I can tell, it's just blatantly wrong. I've been running just my actual favorite weapon across characters to try and manually change it but to no avail.

I've only ever played since this newest season, and I'm saying based on how I play starfly should be at minimum 2-3 instead of 1 character's most used weapon. Because I don't understand how the mechanic works clearly, I was looking for clarification.
