Anyone figure out the Star Ring?

Just wondering if anyone's figured out how to use the Star Ring well enough to use it as a primary in a weapon damage build. Like what's the idea behind using it, how do you build it, ect.

I used it with painkiller and shared elements to just aoe spread fusion effects. It was pretty strong, but its completely dependent on a high elemental effect chance pairing.

It's not a great single target DPS weapon. You have to treat it like a launcher basically. A launcher that does less single target DPS than a Shrieker but more AOE than a tiger cannon. On top of the downside of having to stand in the middle of enemy fire, unlike a launcher. But it's probably one of the highest DPS weapons when there's a lot of enemies.

I primarily use it as fodder for magazine gemini though.

put on auto and aim at heads, retracting from max range does over double damage so spam it. its a pistol, so there are some funny effects on nona. building Crit can make it do a lot of damage, and element share/conversion isn't horrible either, and spore has much better choices. Ball on Crit is also pretty good, any crit is good. Its ungodly good in wave mode, good in regular mode. Use ESP to hit enemies from behind cover, and never try to use the fully retracted mode to do damage.

In spiritual assault, it's surprisingly good as a tool for proc on hit with meteors, chain lightning, swords or blooms. Element share + painkiller is also crazy for making everyone fight each other. It's a neat, if niche weapon. For people who need to animate skills it's also an alternative to cloud weaver since it stays deployed when you're charging firefox or similar sorts of things.

As a weapon damage primary it's pretty high damage as far as crit pistols are concerned and can be built that way.
