If you have sanguine relic+feline grace (basically mandatory together) you can pretty much do whatever you want long as your doing constant reliable damage, so slow firing rocket launchers or bone dragons are bad in this situation - but anything that leads to a reliable damage output works. Im partial to firescale and demonlore, but iv done runs where I just had a big hippo and a rocket launcher - hippo keeps the heals comming in and launcher clears out the room.
For boomdogs I typically prefer the rocket launcher or bone dragon, shark is fine but angling bouncing grenades can be real annoying if you also have a direct fire weapon so you bounce between aiming a shot and aiming a bounce - neither of which work together. Iv also used shriekers and stingers to fair effect.
Recoil / Stability is based on your primary (right) gun when Dual-Wielding
So if you have a highly stable weapon like the Thunderclap Glove, you can easily aim and spam with high-recoil weapons like the Angelic Aura while Dual-Wielding. Even the drastic kick of the Wild Hunt won't ruin your aim. Speaking of shotguns...
Mixing a high RoF weapon with a burst weapon can be a good idea
The idea is to keep firing the high RoF weapon while taking careful shots with the burst weapon. For example, I can keep unloading with a Big Hippo while picking my targets and aiming for crits with an Argus. And if the Big Hippo is my secondary weapon during Dual-Wield, the recoil won't affect my aim making my burst shots with Argus more precise.
As for favorite builds, double Illusion with +RoF Inscriptions. Melts Arsonist and other fat targets quick and is pretty accurate. Combine that with Sharpshooter/Overloading and you can delete bosses almost as fast as a fully-buffed Demonlore.
Find two weapons with "After killing 5 enemies in 10s, your bullets will automatically "lock" on nearby enemies' weakness and +100 CritX" and just focus on getting permanent dual wield/+damage and ammo consumption. you just walk into a room, kill 5 enemies and the rest of the room literally gets deleted. Deft hands or advanced depot so you never have to stop firing.
i've yet to have any build on any character even come close to how broken this is
