Gold chest "upgrading" an inscription
The chest does not Upgrade the inscription... it replaces it with a new one

Inscriptions have tiers normal, rare and legendary. Upgrading a normal inscription (green) means trading one random green inscription for a blue (rare) inscription.

... its not really an upgrade if it changes it though is it? that needs rewording. i expected the 'upgrade' to make the numbers bigger

If you have no Green it just changes Blue to a different Blue as well. So no upgrade on that either

well than thats a bug if you have only blues or higher you should not have the option to do the upgrade at all

protip: if you level a weapon to 5 and then replace all inscriptions from one of those chests itll get a gemini effect.

Yeah it just jumps one of the 'green' inscriptions to 'blue' but dosnt directly translate - iv nerfed a many a gun by turning a good green into a terrible blue. Only real use is getting a gemini early but its not really worth the effort unless your having someone else in your crew make a gemini as well.

hm, glad to know this. there does need to be a straight upgrade option as well, reroll is nice, but sometimes you just find the perfect gun

I only use this option(for all of the reasons listed above) when a crappy weapon has dropped nearby and I've got extra cash to spare. It's turned a worthless Scapel into a god tier weapon before.
