Elite Catfish Warrior Out of Control

I've been playing low-level avatars solo lately to increase the challenge. Three runs in a row I have had great games that were ended by ludicrously OP Elite Catfish Warriors.

I've been playing this since beta and I have some sort of frame for that. So I remember the Elite Catfish Warrior of yore. At one time, he was the easiest shoreline Elite. Not anymore.

Instead of throwing one of those red X ranged attacks, he now spams them. Like more than a dozen. This is annoying and excessive, but this is not what's "Out of Control". Oh, no.

Once the Elite Catfish Warrior gets done spamming his ranged attacks, he does this series of teleports that is impossible to hit. There is no hit box. The teleports end with a massive melee attack in your face for over 200 damage, usually a one-shot kill on the player. It's like playing Call of Duty on a Chinese server where some hacker teleports into your face and unloads a shotgun.

I'm pretty sure I can cheese this fight by hugging the portal and just leaving when the Elite Catfish Warrior starts his horse dung teleportation. And I will, screw it.

The Elite Catfish Warrior is cheap crap. It is not fun. There is no skillful way to hit the teleporting midget. Maybe he needed a buff, but seriously, what were they thinking?

You can easily end the fight with it w/o being hit once. No cheesing involved.

So Prof when was the last time you played level 0? The Elite Catfish Warrior TELEPORTS. There is no dodge. The teleports end directly in your face with a one-shot kill melee attack.

I am saying precisely that.
There is a rock in the middle of the vault that you can sometimes maneuver into the Elite Catfish Warrior's way. You can make the teleportation attack fail occasionally by being a pain in the rictus to teleport to. Occasionally.

I've fought elite catfish warrior several times, and I haven't had its teleports end with it hitting me. Maybe you're supposed to move to the side instead of backwards? Not trying to sound condescending I just don't tend to have any more issues with him than the other act 3 elites.

Naw, I don't take offense at anything. I have to push back at Prof or he feels neglected, is all. That said, I will try moving sideways next time I see him. I just finished my regular Sunday Gunfire raid and killed the Elite Catfish Warrior with no problems by simply face-tanking the ranged attack and out-DPS'ing him. Not an option solo, at level zero. Sidestep FTW. (Hopefully)

I've fought the elite catfish warrior at least 10 times and it has teleported everytime. I just dash back with triple dashs, bind it, slow it with abilities. Also by that stage in the game you should have some weapons that will be able to deal with it quickly. I usually have it killed in less than 10-15 seconds.

Elite Catfish Warrior homing at last location, so evading his dash attack is simple matter of ziggzaggin backwards. No elaborated maneuvers necessary.

I don't know I feel like all the elites in Act 3 need to be reworked since they are a lot easier collectively compared to the other Acts.

Actually, Eudicots, what you need is R9. An even harder mode. Anyway, even though you are right (as if you're ever wrong), you missed the fact that this is level zero.

At level zero, the shoreline Elites are quite challenging--especially that stinker the Elite Catfish Warrior.

This is good advice, especially for Prince. Not disagreeing, in general.

I will say that producing a good, strong weapon in the Shoreline biome is full of difficult decisions. Remember I'm playing level zero. Without level 168 and with limited mostly crappy scrolls, the decision to dump a weapon that has been working to try to gemini something that dropped is enough to make you bite the toes off your mouse, or pull out your hair, or whatever self-destructive act you do in extreme frustration. Me, I just agonize.

And before anyone tells me that obviously I should stop playing level zero--I have a confession. I never did beat the game at R8 with just the default pistol. I decided to change it up and do the level zero challenge for a while. Maybe I'll post something about how your avatar grows slightly even if you never spend soul essences on talents, due to unlocking scrolls and guns over time.

This has also taught me that I may be a good player, but I am not a great player. I need you guys. Just be aware that at the moment I am playing level zero, insane though that may be.
