All DLCs give you things which are extremely strong, easily breaking the game in half.
(Though if you just want to be the strongest, pick the most recent DLC, as this game suffers from heavy powercreep.)
Artisan and Magician has a card-wielding gambler (technically astrology themed, but his abilities really feel to me like they were based on gambling) who is arguably the most complex character in the game, and a character with a minion who can fight with you and even revive you when you get downed. It also includes the almighty brick, which is unironically my favorite sniper weapon in the game; nothing like being presented with an armory's worth of mystical firearms and choosing instead to just chuck bricks.
Realm of Frost and Inkwash has an icy character who specializes in hitting weakpoints quickly (more like a designated marksman than a sniper) and with the right level-up choices can also blast the battlefield with the equivalent of a tactical nuke, and a character who zips around at hyper speed with a damage aura which can kill enemies just by proximity. It's also notable in that all four weapons added in this DLC have auto-targeting aspects, with one even being auto-firing.
And if you don't care about any of that:
Thank you everyone, much appreciated
Monkey can buff any weapon with his second skill, it's true (though this buff alone isn't going to make you really powerful), but his first skill heavily favors heavy hitting, slow weapon types. It can be imba mass one-shots machine with shotguns, snipers and probably launchers, it will be decent at best with swords, with other types of weapons it will become useless very quickly after the first few rooms.
