I thought Owl was the height of broken, but they sure showed me.

yeah i thought owl was broken with his homing aoe primary that does a billion damage.
lyn's primary is a nuke, it does not need to home in enemies when it hits all of them anyway.

But it's a single player PvE game.

Grenade spam, aimbot weapons, large AOE specials, excessive HP recovery, etc, and etc.

Could you even imagine all the whining on the forums, if this game had a PvP mode?

PvP or PvE, doesn't matter. Both need boundaries.

If the game makes you too powerful, the game becomes too easy. Everyone has a point where they'll think the game is too easy, no matter how much you want to deny it. And when they reach that point, the game becomes boring. People stop playing boring games.

Can anyone explain Lyn? I just played one game with her. Let's see if I understand it...

-For her, enemies have randomly placed weak spots.
-The weakspots change locations from time to time.
-Hits in he weak spots guarantee critical damage, like the normal weak spot (head usually) I guess? and may cause a new 'unbalanced' status, that seems like a stun effect?
-Weak spots shatter after six hits. The more consecutive hits you do, the higher the chance for Unbalance.
-Enemies also show a new bar behind the hp bar, with a mark (the lethal line!) around the middle or a bit to the left.
-This bar starts full like their hp, and lowers with their hp too, so at first they are above the 'lethal line' and at some point it will be below it.
-Unbalanced effect move the lethal line to the right.
-Her primary ability is related to all this: it does more damage the higher (more to the right) the lethal line is, and if the hp bar is lower than the line, they are executed.
-It also does an extra AoE damage effect if the target was executed or in unbalanced status in that moment.

...which now that I read it, it's a lot of text for a simple character: the important thing is to just shoot a lot to the weak spot, which will do extra damage/stun the enemy, and her primary skill will do more damage if you did that important thing, or even install kill it, doing extra aoe damage then.

Of course her ascensions complicate things, as they boost up different aspects, like the whole 'shatter weak spots' efefcts, or play around the Unbalanced effect, etc. But the summary is still valid; just shoot a lot to the weak spots.

Do be fair every character is incredibly overpowered if you understand them even slightly. Hell ao bai Takes any explosive weapon to screen clearing levels. Li just deletes everything in existence with literally any build, and bird just dont die.

Its honestly why I love this game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much. I do wish For more difficulty Reincarnation 9 is hardly challenging anymore even with lone wolf maxed out. So much so I've beaten it with just the foundry. The only next step i could have is foundry, and no scrolls and frankly I dont even know if thats possible.

It's always better to slightly overtune than undertune a character on release when it can be helped, more characters who feel more fun means more playtime, as long as they aren't rubbing along the Obscenity Threshold too harshly or for too long. Unless they're explicitly a joke character like Dan Hibiki or Pokken's croagunk, a bad first impression due to being undertuned tends to be a death knell for a character's popularity in a game.
