Why is copper limited to 65535?

Thats the code reason, but whats the gameplay reason? Numbers higher than 65535 do exist for damage and other things.

The actual reason is probably to do with Richs Privileges and Unfettered Will potentially doing OP damage if you could generate lots of money.

The gameplay reason is that it was originally never intended for the player to ever reach that much copper, so it was a non-issue. The only reason why it's possible now is because of all the various ways that were added to gain extra copper, plus the addition of Boundless/Endless which lets you gather literally infinite copper.
