I would much prefer if you could get late game weapon early on to have fun with, not a very niche "oh you still got nothing good even this late?" as it currently is.
This isn't true anymore, they changed it to where you don't get the Arsenal in the Desert and only get it the earliest at Fjord lv 3.
I think it should just be Desert and after the last boss, generally by the end of Desert I've settled on a weapon, so it would be nice to be able to pull out an interesting weapon then as opposed to the end of Fjord.
And I feel like getting the guard 3 times is a bit overkill and I'd rather not miss out on my chance at a different vault reward.
oh god i found one but like can someone explain the odds/design of how to find it again lmao
Which is close to useless, since you can get anything you want at that point. Unless you want to use same weapons to finish every run of course. Since you can deposit them after polar monarch.
3 extra weapon slots.
Sure the weapon storage ends up being worthless for everything except storing extremely powerful gemini fodder at a point in the game where you can already kill everything in 1 hit with just moderate luck and decision making, but you still get the powerful ability to keep using good weapons you found early without sacrificing them for a pair of others that you'll gemini later on.
I find that about as useless, to be honest.
The only use I see for it is to carry extra elemental weapon for slow\fusion effect in a bad situation. Which is very, very niche, and mostly early game only.
There`s no situation in which I want old weapon without gemini, simply because I would still be using it, IF it was that good.
It can be useful if you have a pair of weapons that you want to turn into a gemini, but want to hold out on committing to them in case you find something better. Meanwhile you can keep the pair and still use another good weapon that doesn't need a gemini to be powerful at the moment.
Alternatively, it lets you store 3 weapons for recycling into copper. While niche, it can be useful for bringing 3 weapons from the early game to a later stage (later stages recycle items for more copper), or if you have Extravagant Consumption which limits your copper to 500, and you wish to spend more than that.
