Tried this game for bit new player. Is Noona OP or is it just me?
I got the dlc hero the mech lady. Anyways first run is the fox kid who has a chains nade and poison nade. He kinda sucks i go pew pew pew die to the first boss after doing like 200/2000 damage to him. Aight cool cool its expected i got like 25 soul points that run its my first run i get it. Lets see what characters i can choose from.
panda monkey yada yada. oh whats this this cutie pie comes with a mech? Well that sounds fun she has the most health as well coudnt hurt....

Fellas i got a rocket launcher first stage that did like 2k damage. I got some skill thing that made my mech do 325% of my helds weapon damage and then also if the weapon im not using has an elemental effect the mech gets that. The mech was doing 5k damage out the gate. I see an enemy seismic stomp it and the mech deletes it and then oneshots whatever is next to it.

My mech was nuking things for 20-30k damage. I blinked and the first boss died. it was a massive AOE thing. I completely stomped that entire game using a crap poison pistol and a normal tier rocket launcher that i spent all my money upgrading to level 10 or whatever it is.

Again first time playing. My second round on normal i got 350 soul points and won and i didnt even know what i was doing. This doesnt feel right at all. DLC character dumb OP OP.

She's definitely more balanced in the higher difficulties. But as for Crown Prince not doing well... That's only when you're a low level. He's definitely up there for best characters once you're got much more progression.
Neither of them compare to the previous DLC character Li though. She just nukes everything at any difficulty and at any talent level.

Yeah thought this would be the case. I have medium tier knowledge of games like this and most of the buffs for the mech i was getting was mostly +damage and less survival/crits

But man as a new player she should be blocked behind something. Like a quest or something at least. Worse thing ever as a newbie imo is getting access to something that makes the early game meaningless to trivial.

Yeah, that's an issue I have with this, Risk of Rain 2 (although there you at least have to unlock 1 character and 3 abilities for the other, but all the items are unlocked right away), and even Helldivers.
Just because I paid money to have more content, doesn't mean I want it right away. I want it to feel like I'm paying for an expansion, not paying for the content directly. It would give me something to work towards if I had to earn the content, still, while also not just completely missing out on it.

Idk about that first part. Ran Reincarnation 5 with a friend to try the new characters and Noona seems like she is just ridiculously strong.
The Chicken Mech's damage output is pure insanity, especially if you focus on making gunner mode broken.

More importantly though, the Spirit Blessing she gets in Reincarnation are actually insane, especially Pair of Us. That one prevents the mech from dying if you're up, which means you can always save it (if needed at all). But the thing is, if YOU go down, the super tanky mech will come save you. This makes it borderline impossible to be taken down, especially if you take the ascention that buffs it's max hp. ON TOP OF THAT, if gives the mech 1% more damage per hp it has. It starts at 600 iirc and by the end of the run was at 2100.

I honestly felt bad playing this character in multiplayer because the mech was single handedly clearing things as they spawned from the Desert onwards, and if somehow something did survive (AKA if I chose not to use gunner mode), it barely mattered since we were functionally invincible.

Well first off all crown prince has to get some perks from the skill tree first to get better but oh boy does he get better. Other than that its not really a great choice to compare a character where you got a good synergy with a character that you didnt get to see the synergys with. I agree that some characters are easier to get these going than others and she seems very strong but as you level up every character they somewhat level the playing field. I also asume that new characters are balanced around feeling great right after you buy them even on the highest difficultys which ofc makes them seem way stronger than the ones that came out at the start. Every character is more than viable on every difficulty some may just struggle to get a good build together on the highest because they need specific scrolls or ascension buffs. for example my favorite character is turtle who i personally find insanely fun to play but its sometimes hard to get the right ascensions and movement or skill damage scrolls rolling if youre unlucky by the time you reach act 2.

TL:DR just play who you have fun with or feel like playing. some may very well seem weak now but just because you might need to unlock more perks , specific weapons, scrolls or whatnot. they all end up feeling good even if some may outperform the others or are easier to build

i thought the cat prince was garbage too, then i tried him again for variety and found that he is pretty safe compared to other heroes.(After getting good)

Nona seems fine, but extremely broken on normal or elite. Probably easier to get your first win with than bird or turtle.

Damagewise she seems far below good cat/dog/tiger/monkey/fox. Unsure how tanky her bot is on higher diffs. In general relying on skill damage is bad in this game, even if she has a lot of multipliers. IDK how she compares to bunny iceblade builds.

The bot is reasonably durable even on R8, which means on normal he's basically unkillable.

TBH I'm not sure I like that she's a free win basically regardless of player skill on normal.

Doing a quick test run since I woke up early Noona is kinda broken if your lucky, skilled, or have a brain stem, still not comparable to the fox if you know what your doing though.

And the cat is stupid crazy after you've dumped points into talents, at first though hes just good for unlocking another char to make the progression to make him powerful.

Yeah, I will agree that even it's base HP without any talents is a little too high for something that's trivial to bring back to life anyway.

Though yeah, in lower difficulties, higher damage only really matters for bosses. Ao Bai can clear normal and elite with just a regular grenade build, because the application of damage is easy, and is enough to oneshot most enemies at those difficulties.
And then when you get into reincarnation, everyone is ridiculous in damage right now. Except maybe the monkey and the owl. Monkey is okay at mob clearing with a launcher, but suffers against bosses. Owl has a rough start, but gets on par later in runs.

I'll simply say this since you're a new player: you're going to find out that there are a LOT of things in this game that are OP. Some, myself included, would argue that's the point: every run you take what RNG deals you and try your best to come up with an absolutely busted build. Really isn't that tricky, but you'll get to find this out for yourself as you keep playing the game. :P
Anyone know how to activate Iron Wing Firing mode?
LootGoblin Jun 1, 2023 @ 9:17am
Yes, she is really OP for early gameplay. Despite the damage she can do, she is really squishy in higher difficulty. She is the currently highest damage in my account and easiest character to get one-shot by "anythings".

You use the "Cancel Fire" button (middle mouse for default on PC).

I am playing in Reincarnation +8 with all of the Bizarre Dream on Lone Wolf 4 player... And oh my god, Iron Wing does a ridiculous amount of damage with no effort. Giving him Shoulder Cannon Upgrade ascension into Fire mode is disgusting powerful.

Elite, Mob, and Treasure Lizard rooms are literally cakewalk with this ascension. ngl this is making me laugh a lot on how powerful it is. I am killing bosses in literal seconds, and I am even destroying rooms with "Back to Origin" modifiers on it.

Also Jet Octopus gun is ridiculously strong.
Rayzark Jun 1, 2023 @ 11:10am
Yes, Nona is OP, specifically, fire mode Iron Wing with Shoulder Cannon Upgrade and missile damage ascensions. Don't even care about melee skills.

You get 3 charges of deploy Iron Wing, which instantly throws a barrage of rockets that oneshot enemies with 1 or 2 skill or missile buffs.

And personally, it's a really fun build, but yeah, it's really OP and easy to get consistently with Ultimate Gambler.
