Neither of them compare to the previous DLC character Li though. She just nukes everything at any difficulty and at any talent level.
Yeah thought this would be the case. I have medium tier knowledge of games like this and most of the buffs for the mech i was getting was mostly +damage and less survival/crits
But man as a new player she should be blocked behind something. Like a quest or something at least. Worse thing ever as a newbie imo is getting access to something that makes the early game meaningless to trivial.
Just because I paid money to have more content, doesn't mean I want it right away. I want it to feel like I'm paying for an expansion, not paying for the content directly. It would give me something to work towards if I had to earn the content, still, while also not just completely missing out on it.
Idk about that first part. Ran Reincarnation 5 with a friend to try the new characters and Noona seems like she is just ridiculously strong.
The Chicken Mech's damage output is pure insanity, especially if you focus on making gunner mode broken.
More importantly though, the Spirit Blessing she gets in Reincarnation are actually insane, especially Pair of Us. That one prevents the mech from dying if you're up, which means you can always save it (if needed at all). But the thing is, if YOU go down, the super tanky mech will come save you. This makes it borderline impossible to be taken down, especially if you take the ascention that buffs it's max hp. ON TOP OF THAT, if gives the mech 1% more damage per hp it has. It starts at 600 iirc and by the end of the run was at 2100.
I honestly felt bad playing this character in multiplayer because the mech was single handedly clearing things as they spawned from the Desert onwards, and if somehow something did survive (AKA if I chose not to use gunner mode), it barely mattered since we were functionally invincible.
TL:DR just play who you have fun with or feel like playing. some may very well seem weak now but just because you might need to unlock more perks , specific weapons, scrolls or whatnot. they all end up feeling good even if some may outperform the others or are easier to build
Damagewise she seems far below good cat/dog/tiger/monkey/fox. Unsure how tanky her bot is on higher diffs. In general relying on skill damage is bad in this game, even if she has a lot of multipliers. IDK how she compares to bunny iceblade builds.
The bot is reasonably durable even on R8, which means on normal he's basically unkillable.
TBH I'm not sure I like that she's a free win basically regardless of player skill on normal.
And the cat is stupid crazy after you've dumped points into talents, at first though hes just good for unlocking another char to make the progression to make him powerful.
Yeah, I will agree that even it's base HP without any talents is a little too high for something that's trivial to bring back to life anyway.
Though yeah, in lower difficulties, higher damage only really matters for bosses. Ao Bai can clear normal and elite with just a regular grenade build, because the application of damage is easy, and is enough to oneshot most enemies at those difficulties.
And then when you get into reincarnation, everyone is ridiculous in damage right now. Except maybe the monkey and the owl. Monkey is okay at mob clearing with a launcher, but suffers against bosses. Owl has a rough start, but gets on par later in runs.

Elite, Mob, and Treasure Lizard rooms are literally cakewalk with this ascension. ngl this is making me laugh a lot on how powerful it is. I am killing bosses in literal seconds, and I am even destroying rooms with "Back to Origin" modifiers on it.
Also Jet Octopus gun is ridiculously strong.
You get 3 charges of deploy Iron Wing, which instantly throws a barrage of rockets that oneshot enemies with 1 or 2 skill or missile buffs.
And personally, it's a really fun build, but yeah, it's really OP and easy to get consistently with Ultimate Gambler.
