Endless mode
PLEASE add endless mode without bosses. It is the only reason I am not playing the game anymore. Gets boring to clear the same levels and bosses over and over again. Give endless mode with random generated maps. (risk of rain style)

You do realize endless mode isn't going to fix the reason it gets boring, right?

Endless mode is literally "clearing the same levels over and over again". Only difference is now you will likely one-shot everything because players outscale enemies, making it even more boring because that's all you'll be doing.

I do not agree. Endless mode is what make these kind of games great! You can do all sorts of thing to make it interresting. Different affixes, different map design. it is only your imaginating that sets the limit. No matter what. At least give me the option to play endless. you do not decide what is boring for me. I don't think it is boring to see how far I can go with a build. If you don't like it. Then stick to normal play where the game ends. That is not for me.

If the devs were to add new affixes and map designs, they'd just add it to the main game regardless of the existence of endless. No reason to lock perfectly good content behind redoing the same things over and over. (Unless the sole purpose of the new stuff is to completely shut down players becoming invincible while running endless)

Imagination is the only thing that sets the limit? I guess the developers don't need anything else, such as time to develop things, effort to make them, money to pay the people making them, and flexibility to work on them while also working on the stuff they've already said they'd work on in the roadmap.

Also I didn't decide what is boring for you. You did. You said that clearing the same things over and over is boring. I just parroted that by saying that's exactly what endless mode is.

But you ARE deciding what is boring for me. What if I like to clear the same thing over and over again? but in a setting with no bosses?
All I am asking for is a endless mode. Every time I get a build that somehow works, I am right next to the last boss and all the effort I put into the build is pointless because the game is ending when the boss is dead. I prefer the game to end when I die. And not when a boss die.
Is that so wrong of a suggestion? I mean. There is a reason why risk of rain is so succesfull. In that game you can decide when to end the game. And I could see a lot of fun doing the same thing in this game. That is all

do you have 100% achievements? if you don't, i'd suggest to do that to fix the boredom lol
also i have never heard of any type of endless mode in a game that doesn't have bosses in it
from my experience there's ALWAYS a boss, typically at every 5th or even 10th wave
so idk bud i think your want for an endless mode is toast
When I heard Spiritual Assault was wave-based I thought it was finally an endless mode of sorts but I was disappointed pretty quickly. The mode is still fun for me when interspersed between playing Reincarnation with my friends but it doesn't scratch that itch of an endless mode.

It's gotten to the point I'm trying to rope one of my friends into getting RoR2 to try fill the void of an endless roguelike. I just want to sit down, become powerful, defeat things, rinse and repeat with a friend or few for several hours until the screen blinds us with funny effects.

I believe the devs will eventually add an endless mode, but it'll probably take some time to add systems that keep the game engaging without either the player or the enemies becoming too powerful.

Too late.

Players can already become permanently invincible with Windrider and 2 Dash cooldown reductions (which can be blessings you deliberately pick), or other hero-specific ways of becoming invincible, and can kill every enemy at the same speed regardless of how much their health increases with any source of Decay and Shock.

With those (and you can get them all before endless starts if your luck doesn't suck), you can guarantee victory forever. No danger, and only Armored enhanced enemies to worry about being bullet sponges slowing things down, though there are ways to deal with that too like Penetration Bullet.

I'll rather have a Dead Cell style choose your path level design then endlessly going through the same sets of levels. Endless mode would basically need to debuff or scale with the player in order for that to work out otherwise it would get boring in my opinion.

Making enemies scale infinitely would be easy enough. Just buff health/damage for each loop through, maybe make certain modifiers and events more frequent. The problem comes with how to make the player keep scaling. Almost everything is finite. There's only so many ascensions you can pick, scrolls don't stack, and most of the weapon improvements are one time investments. The only thing that scales infinitely is weapon level. So they'd basically need to rework a ton of the progression systems to make an infinite mode stay fun past point where there's no meaningful progression, instead of just ending the game shortly before you hit that point.

What kind of answer is that lol? I don't like doing achievements in any game ever! Why should I be forced to do them just because I feel bored with the content that the game provides right now? Your logic is out of reach mate.

Let's say you play GTA and did all the missions, and you just want more missions/content to play with. Because you like the story part of the game.
Then you come along and tell them to go get all the paint job for every car in the game.. But you don't care about the paint jobs??
wtf dude :D I don't even know what to answer you.

I want X and you suggest Y to me??
I like Cake and you give me Carrots...

I just want a endless mode. Thats is. Why is that so forbidden to ask for?
You can do your achievements. I will never do them. EVER. Such a waste of time.
Eudicots Mar 22, 2023 @ 2:44pm
This isn't forbidden. It is just a suggestion that has been made since day 1 of early access. The developers have not added it into this game or gave their stance on this suggestion. They either do not want to implement it or its far more complicated to balance+implement than expected.

Meet the nerf fanatics, they believe that any problem (especially the lack of content) can and should be solved by nerfs.
