Weapons discussion
Just finished a game with the cat on elite. I've noticed that over my playtime I've gravitated toward one of four weapons, those being prism, glimmering, lightning bolt and flaming scale. That could be just preference but I've seen on the forums that most do stay on those four as well.Let's have a discussion on what could be changed to address that.
I'm not stating "NERF THESE!!!" These four weapons feel just right to me, like they pack enough punch that they're good without being game breaking or like W+M1 weapons. My problem is that, although I adore most of the other weapons, they're not good or interesting enough to warrant keeping outside of the niche areas.
I'll put some examples of actual improvements I'd like to see for the weapons, and lets, as a community, add to it.

Longbow: Crit multiplier change to 10x. That'll keep its niche as a headshot high power weapon.

Wild Hunt: Add an element, tighten spread. We have an overabundance of fire element weapons but few others. Tightening it's spread is true of an actual shotgun, and since it's high power already with low ammo, it could actually be devastating in the right hands.

Tiger Rocket: Much higher splash radius, less splash damage. Make this thing a huge explosion with the possibility to damage a lot of enemies. That'll keep it useful outside of the first area, when things open up.

Bone Dragon: Higher gravitational pull, higher damage. Compared to the main 4, this isn't impressive or even fun enough to use to make you want to keep it for long. If it's damage is higher it'll still probably be a meme weapon, but it'll be a meme weapon that's actually effective.

Let's keep this alive and add to it. What are your thoughts, reader and player?

Tiger cannon and bone dragon buffs would completely ruin the game, they're already way too strong and are part of the holy trinity of builds. Golden bow isn't the best gun, however I'm pretty sure with all the buffs it's already gotten, it is the best sniper when it comes to practicality. Wild hunt probably needs a bit of help but nothing major, it's a niche weapon that's very important in some niche builds.

Imo the weapons that need help the most right now are still frenzied shark (can't compete with justice), shrieker(still largely considered the worst gun in the game), cavalry(fire rate is still too low when compared to guns like dragon chaser or lightning blast), angelic aura(see cavalry), and maybe argus(doesn't really offer anything that other guns don't already do better).

+1 for Urilbedamned Tiger Cannon and Bone Dragon are in a realy good shape they are atm
@ elvendualwielder the fakt that you say you just finished a run with the cat let me assum
that you more gravitate to this character ( like myself ) than to the dog and Tiger Cannon / Bone Dragon are simply weapons that shine most when used with the dog.

For the bow i can not say much since i personaly do not like it, but 10X crit would be absolutly
gamebreaking and even if not on its own ( maby also on its own xD ) than at least when you get gemini effects with critshare.

in my opinion all the snipers need a small buff in terms of crithitbox, well singel player its fine
but in multyplayer you mostly have to deal with lags and using snipers in multyplayer games
is often a pain in the ass if you are connected with random peopel all over the world

also @ shriker its simply considered one of the worst guns in game becorse its realy unic
and most players do not know how to us it
It fires a high damage and piercing singel projectil that can crit and explodes wen hitting a wall
if used right you can it enemys twice with it and it scales with explosion passivs.
so most of the time you want to aim on the ground behind your target.
but by all means buff it i would not complain ;D after the crimson firescale its the most fun to us weaponin in my opinion ( you just have to avoid any with -50% aoe perks, becors that makes the shreaker simply a worse goshawk with piercing)
Tiger cannon and Bone Dragon really only shine when played by Dog. I suggest you play some runs with him to see if you change your mind.
Longbow is already strong and it is possible to deal above 400k per shot atm with cat. Longbow needs to have the critX gemini to consistently deal 200k+ dmg.
Wild hunt requires very specific builds to be useful, but I believe it has the highest dmg in game currently.
"Play as Dog"
I actually do switch playing as both, and I have 2 elite wins as him vs 1 with cat, so I play both and actually prefer dual wielding goodness with big boomies as opposed to the precise kitty. So this is my perspective with both, doing many runs and winning with both. I'll reiterate.
I tend to stick with a total of 4 guns depending on what I find, the two shurikens and the two elemental assault rifles, because they're the 4 that are the most consistent, they feel just right to use in the most situations, like the dog's explosive buffs applying to the scale's secondary fire and the cat's electrical buffs applying well to the lightning gun. If you're playing as dog, then get the two shurikens, ammo regen, last shot and double shot, and you destroy everything while remaining very mobile.
I like playing with oddball setups, but little outside of the meta is even viable without extreme luck or forcing the numbers/buffs. Sure, I could use the tiger cannon, OR I could use Glimmering, dealing comparable damage while retaining speed. Yes I could use the Bone Dragon OR I could burn them down with the Scale. Yes as cat I could use the longbow and aim for crits OR take the lightning gun and get 10 crits in the same time for comparable damage with much better ammo count, even comparing the differing damage rate. I could go on, but I think most get the point.
Keep in mind, no one is right or wrong, but this is one player's observation after 30 hours of play with switching between the characters consistently. However, I enjoy others' opinions on this.
well i have now over 130 hours of gametime (note that i am horrible at the game when comparing my win loses but i most of the time try different things or gimp around xD)
every gun has up and downsides and its personal prefference wich gun you end up using most of the time and actually that is a good thing
i am looking forward to the aditional guns and also hope that a lot of them have 1 kind of gimic like the crimson firescale becors things like that let a gun stand out
Done a run with the doggo, ended with 2 Tiger cannons that fired 3 and 2 rockets respectively. With double shot ascension, I was able to finally kill Lu Wu in less than 10 seconds, but I simply wasn't fast enough to either outdamage the 2nd boss or outrun his F U laser of DOOOOOM.
That was actually fun, and gave me a new appreciation for it, but it's still outdone by something that didn't slow me down, and even with the increased splash damage from doggo ascension, I was still only able to hit 1-2 enemies tops unless I herded them somehow into a predictable area. Either way, I still killed everything, but if I went with Prism/Glimmering combo I probably would've killed the second boss easily, since I can do it consistently now.
Or I just suck and have no clue on builds. That's always a possibility.
At this point most of my runs devolve down to looking for + projectile weapons that dont have a -stability affix, or anything that has the shared damage type gemini.

+1 projectile golden bow is devastating iirc.

I prefer launcher builds on the dog, going for 2 launchers is by far the most fun for me. you just need to learn to pull out the basic gun when you need to actually get away from something, or get lucky with movement speed and dash scrolls.
So i'm only like 15 hours in and don't know the weapon names.. which don't stick in my head so you have to interpret my descriptions.

The corrosion dagger is my go to, I tend to always be using that, my secondary just evolves around whatever I can find that's good.
The fast cross bow has only ever worked for me once with rapid fire and unlimited shots.
The giant bow with the golden bolt has never worked for me same with the manual bow.
If I play dog, i like fire dagger.
Cavaly i've had luck with crit builds
Rocket launcher has always been terrible for me even with a lot of perks and on dog with everything explosions, same with the fire spitting baby dragon thing, i find it's only good on the first and second areas.
The pink auto dragon assault rifle thingy that has a charging ult fire is sometimes good.
The lock on weapon/the laser glove seem just all around terrible.
The chaingun in one build took out the worm boss is like 5 seconds for me, but seems rare.
The acid gun never seems great unless you get unlimited ammo for 2 seconds and use the alt fire.
The fast fireing lightning gun hand gun thing is sometimes ok.
The ball lightning gun I don't even know what it's alt fire does- also seems not that good.
The big shotgun is outright bad everytime i've used it.
The autoshot gun i've had good runs with but mostly bad.

Gemini traits seem garbage, exclusive seem great. Can anyone confirm that the chests that 'Upgrade' a normal trait don' actually upgrade but change a green trait to a blue one which can be actually be a downgrade.. the text should say 'Gamble'

I'll take any weapon that has the "increased lucky shot chance until reload" inscription if I can pick up Against the flow or Advanced Depot scrolls.
Bone Cannon with boosted Reload Speed alone is one of my favorites
My fav weapon is prism with a chance to kill enemies on hit, and I try to take a second that has bonus damage to elites and bosses.

switch to starting pistol when you need to avoid laser (or pick up fireshard and laugh through it)

Yes I'm aware of basic info on teh game. Thank you, though, for the info.
People sleep on the Wild Hunt, but with the right scrolls and perks, it can be one of the most broken guns in the game. You get Deft Hands, the Wild Hunt turns into a machine gun.
