Depends if you like the game enough that you want more playstyles, or want an easier game because most of the DLC heroes and some of the weapons are very powerful.

If you like the basegame or want to support the developers, they are absolutely worth it!

i wouldn't & i'll explain why. i bought base game played for a while, & then the DLCs. the difference between base game & dlc characters is MASSIVE. you got tiger, cat, dog which are mediocre than you got DLC characters like owl or panda who will be running across levels and clearing enemies in seconds without effort. the game to me feels like pay to win i don't care what anybody say, that's why i wouldn't support devs who do this. the DLC adds value it but that doesn't mean devs gotta make base game characters useless.

after i got the DLC i noticed performance issues. my character & enemies lag from time to time, animations get very glitchy & enemies rubber band occasionally, looks like game tick/performance issue. it's like you're playing in a online server with 200ms latency despite playing single player.

every character is OP if you build him right
and the lag issue sound like a you problem

If you enjoy the base game then yes go for the dlc. It adds 4 new characters which increases the playstyle diversity of the game. These characters are in no way more powerful than the characters already in the base game since the balance among the characters is done pretty well.

Have not experienced this at all. Its most likely on your end and not at all related to the dlc.

I have almost 1k hours into the game, so yea I would notice performance issues. There have been updates that caused problems with performance, but non of the recent ones have.

stay in denial.
You're certainly more than welcome to your opinion on the matter, but if you're stating that Owl and Nona - and before them Monkey and Fox - are any more busted than the OG roster you're simply mistaken.

-Cat in the Hat's Painkiller Smokebomb is arguably the most busted build in the game.
-Thunder Cat's Auto-Lightning build also has a strong argument for being the most busted build in the entire game.
-Birb's kick build will clear rooms faster than Fox's Fireball.
-Bunny's Spore-Blossom build melts entire groups in a matter of moments.
-Doggo's dual wield build current holds my record for Fastest Kill on Mr. Bear with sub 10 seconds.
-Turtle is the only character I don't have much to say about because he's my least played character in the game, but his Tsunami Punch is ridiculously strong.

As lollars said: every character in the game is capable of reaching a busted god-mode build that - as you said in your first response - has you "running across levels and clearing enemies in seconds without effort." Hell, Thunder Cat's Auto-Lightning build has you press a single button - your primary skill - and you don't even have to look in the general direction of enemies...everything within 20m just insta-gibs.

I'm not denying that you, personally, can't get any of the OG roster to work out well for you. It could be that you simply don't gel with any of their playstyles. But saying that this game is Pay-2-Win (btw can't really be "Pay-2-Win" in a strictly co-op game since you're not "winning" over others who are "losing") is factually incorrect considering every character in the game is capable of becoming a walking whirlwind of death and destruction. If you can't pull that off with any given character than that's on you, not the game. As 931numbers is so eager to tell all who'll listen: this game is ridiculously easy.

Yup! I love all the characters (except Turtle, yawn) and the DLC is pretty reasonably priced.

Meanwhile 10yo Diablo 3 still has its ONE character DLC listed for $15 lmao.

I think I know what he means but he's blowing it out of proportion. I've entered a room solo and suddenly my character will teleport forward further in to the room. it's happened twice on random occasions. I know the door can if you don't move enough when it puts the barrier there so you can't back out but that wasn't it.

I've personally not had any lag issues on this game. There's a few weird teleport jank points with doors locking for sure but nothing that's not caused by poor performance.
The DLC is what you think of it. Like the game? Grab some new characters to expand your fun. Don't like it? Don't. Personally, I'm indifferent on the DLC as I'm content with the base roster, personally.

I would. Nona (red panda) makes it so u have a duo partner when in single player, Owl can reroll his scrolls and is RNG based off his scrolls and how far in the run you are, Monkey, Firefox is a web browser but my favorite one.

Yes, i recommend the dlc that have Li, is fun and broken
Paw Jul 9, 2023 @ 7:29pm
The second dlc is better than the first one IMO. Though, feel free to pick either one. Nona from the second dlc is by far, the most busted character I have ever played in this game and it also has BRICK.

The brick is so stupidly fun if you can keep chaining it.
