Thoughts about the new game mode
I played in the new game mode a lot since it came out, both solo and in multiplayer with friends and while I like it a lot, I think there are some issues that REALLY need fixing.

Starting with the performance : I'm playing on a high end PC with a 3070 and a 5800X and I dropped as low as 20 FPS yesterday. Whether I'm playing solo or in multiplayer and no matter my settings (even with disabled effects for allies), this always happens, especially when I arrive at the 30 minute mark. This is very frustrating and makes the new mode not worth playing for me, which is a shame because I would probably enjoy it a lot otherwise.

Another big issue, especially in multiplayer this time : most of our deaths happened when we tried to choose our level up rewards, open a chest, buy things to the peddler, upgrade our weapons at the craftsman or read gun descriptions on the ground. I'm not sure how this was overlooked but the lack of break time for choosing rewards really makes the game mode unfun to play in multiplayer.

I also hope the devs add more difficulty levels over time, mostly easier ones because I'm sure a lot of casual players will get frustrated over the number of monsters and the number of HP these monsters have when they don't play with a very strong build. And devs... Please nerf the healing of those stupid elite monks. It makes no sense.

Thank you for reading and have a great day !

Edit : It's also very hard to read gun descriptions on the ground without getting hit by enemies in solo. It would be better if guns only spawned during a break time to avoid this issue. Same thing with chests that give a scroll : you have to wait for the opening animation to end before you can take the scroll, which can result to death. Usually this animation is not a problem because chests are always in a safe spot, but it is not the case in this mode.

Tl;dr :
- Big performance issues (dropped as low as 20 FPS with a 3070 and a 5800X)
- Multiplayer needs break time for visiting the peddler and craftsman, opening chests, choosing level up rewards and extra guns should only drop during that time so you can look at them without dying
- Need easier difficulty levels for casual players
- Elite monks are healing way too much
- Other than that, it's fun !

We wanted faster games but we also really want our break time and that is why we stopped with nightmare speed runs, but on max reincarnation, with the latest level added to it, it is just too long to play and to be honest kind of warn out anyway. Haven't tried the new mode yet but very disappointed to hear about the lack of break time to properly build our characters.

Lack of break time is what makes everyone frustrated.

100% agree with all points! If these are addressed, it would be a much more fun mode. I never tried solo but it sounds so much easier with the lower HP and pause screens for the shop...monks still broken either way

Agree, this mode is poorly tested or is targeting elitists-group, e.g. streamers with best hardware and above average skills.

I've run a new mode yesterday in solo and it seems this mode haven't been made ready for a multiplayer, since only in solo you can PAUSE game, by hitting a button to see reward in a circle selector (take time to thing and read descriptions, aka tooltips). An average player require BREAKS to safely do micromanagement, those breaks are mandatory in main game, why they are not provided in this mode? The 2 pauses we have are great, but it should be at least 10 after smaller waves.

I like idea of guns spawning only during break, this can be organized as a kind of pause + reward for passing a wave. Guns falling from the sky - borderlands style (good style)!

FPS was ok in solo, but mobs often lags: they teleport back and forth, I was killed by invisible (or teleporting?) exploding thingies summoned by big mushroom guys.

The new mode is VERY HARD in solo, especially when there are lots of meaty enemies spawned. I don't believe a casual player would be enjoying so many spawned mobs at once. Worst - they are spawning behind, so constantly monitoring minimap is very mandatory, I would NOT let mobs to spawn behind (it's hard to determine what is "behind" for a player AI wise). I do hope new levels, if they come, will have places, where I can backpedal and don't have mobs spawning behind!

To summarize:
- please make easier difficulty, why not using difficulty system from the main game?
- do something with performance: less mobs, more stupid (less time consuming) AI, no aggressive mob spawn from behind (rather close to a group of enemies).
- Split wave into smaller mini-waves with long enough breaks in-between.

I don't have the performance issues you all are talking about. After the first patch to this addition my game runs smooth in both single player and multiplayer.

A break should have been introduced everytime a peddler+craftsman or chest spawns on the map. Treat it like killing floor where you get a minute to go to shop, manage you upgrades, and scrolls.

Is it that hard? It really just comes down to building the correct passives to help you quickly level up. At first you are gonna struggle because you do not have the majority of passives unlocked, but once you do its pretty easy.

Some GPUs/CPUs may be more affected than others. What GPU and CPU are you using ?

Because you don't have any issues doesn't mean a lot of other people don't. Good for you if it's already well optimized for your PC, but many people have reported performance issues even on high end PCs. The devs said they're working on it.

I am thinking the same as you with all your points, "six". That made me think about, why would they do it like this. Maybe there were like: In Multiplayer, up to 3 players could always secure the 'reading' one. It is possible, I mean you can in-game talk and listen to random people joining your game. So I guess, to solve this it is a 'depend on your teammates' thing.
yes, this could be a possible way, i would say.. but, as theorie and reality are not the same, I would love a few changes as well..

I guess it's fine if everyone in your party has a godlike build and great communication and can protect you from getting oneshot while choosing your rewards, but to be honest I think the devs hardly tested the new mode in multiplayer. It doesn't really make sense to overlook an issue this big. Mistakes happen, so let's hope they're quick at fixing them. The new mode will be very fun once everything gets sorted out.

choosing a reward is easy as pressing F1 to F3 it takes almost no time and should not effect your movement anyway that much

It's a awful mode. Extraordinary grindy, and what do you do? Kill, and more?... Nothing more just kill, kill and kill. And after every 1000:th kill you get a small upgrade that is totally random. 0 skills and if you win is all about if you get the right upgrade or weapon. Otherwise a great game but yikes, this mode is so bad.

By rewards I also mean peddler, craftsman etc. And pressing F1 to F3 is ok for scrolls if you know their icons by heart, but it's not the case for most people. As for weapons, reading their inscriptions is way more optimal but you rarely ever have the time to do so.

5800x and 3080Ti here. New game mode is almost unplayable for me due to how laggy it can become. Seems weird to me that people with 20-series cards say it runs smooth as butter yet higher end and newer GPUs can barely keep up.

It seems like it would be fun if it was playable but between the teleporters, what feels like rubber banding and framerate drops I can't last more than 15 minutes tops because I get killed by something I consistently am unable to fight against due to it either hitting me through walls or floors or otherwise just not being visible.
