I've run a new mode yesterday in solo and it seems this mode haven't been made ready for a multiplayer, since only in solo you can PAUSE game, by hitting a button to see reward in a circle selector (take time to thing and read descriptions, aka tooltips). An average player require BREAKS to safely do micromanagement, those breaks are mandatory in main game, why they are not provided in this mode? The 2 pauses we have are great, but it should be at least 10 after smaller waves.
I like idea of guns spawning only during break, this can be organized as a kind of pause + reward for passing a wave. Guns falling from the sky - borderlands style (good style)!
FPS was ok in solo, but mobs often lags: they teleport back and forth, I was killed by invisible (or teleporting?) exploding thingies summoned by big mushroom guys.
The new mode is VERY HARD in solo, especially when there are lots of meaty enemies spawned. I don't believe a casual player would be enjoying so many spawned mobs at once. Worst - they are spawning behind, so constantly monitoring minimap is very mandatory, I would NOT let mobs to spawn behind (it's hard to determine what is "behind" for a player AI wise). I do hope new levels, if they come, will have places, where I can backpedal and don't have mobs spawning behind!
To summarize:
- please make easier difficulty, why not using difficulty system from the main game?
- do something with performance: less mobs, more stupid (less time consuming) AI, no aggressive mob spawn from behind (rather close to a group of enemies).
- Split wave into smaller mini-waves with long enough breaks in-between.
A break should have been introduced everytime a peddler+craftsman or chest spawns on the map. Treat it like killing floor where you get a minute to go to shop, manage you upgrades, and scrolls.
Is it that hard? It really just comes down to building the correct passives to help you quickly level up. At first you are gonna struggle because you do not have the majority of passives unlocked, but once you do its pretty easy.
Some GPUs/CPUs may be more affected than others. What GPU and CPU are you using ?
Because you don't have any issues doesn't mean a lot of other people don't. Good for you if it's already well optimized for your PC, but many people have reported performance issues even on high end PCs. The devs said they're working on it.
I guess it's fine if everyone in your party has a godlike build and great communication and can protect you from getting oneshot while choosing your rewards, but to be honest I think the devs hardly tested the new mode in multiplayer. It doesn't really make sense to overlook an issue this big. Mistakes happen, so let's hope they're quick at fixing them. The new mode will be very fun once everything gets sorted out.
By rewards I also mean peddler, craftsman etc. And pressing F1 to F3 is ok for scrolls if you know their icons by heart, but it's not the case for most people. As for weapons, reading their inscriptions is way more optimal but you rarely ever have the time to do so.
It seems like it would be fun if it was playable but between the teleporters, what feels like rubber banding and framerate drops I can't last more than 15 minutes tops because I get killed by something I consistently am unable to fight against due to it either hitting me through walls or floors or otherwise just not being visible.
