2 questions about gemis. how do spores work and why did they remove the damage stack one?
1. how exactly do spores work? I heard they were apparently good but when I try them out without shotguns (I was using assault rifles) It felt like I was barley doing anything.
2. there was a gemi that was deleted and that was this. "Killing an enemy with the held weapon increases base DMG of the next shot from the off-hand weapon by +50%. (Up to 6 shots, stackable)" i think i only used this twice ever but i dont remember if it was OP or not. but why was it removed? Also is spores only good for Ao Bai or am i wrong? any clarification would gladly help me understand since i mainly use elemental and crit gemis

spores best on the rabbit; get a high RoF weapon and use a high projectile weapon in your other slot; the high RoF weapon will shred

1. Spores got reworked, basically use a shotgun as your offhand and upgrade the shotgun. You won't be using it as it won't be your primary. You don't need to use both weapons for spores anymore. Argus > Wild Hunt > Hell for spores.

2. It sucked.

so basically just have the second weapon be a shotgun and first weapon is like a firescale or demonlore. ok thanks :WhiteWolfFunny:

Nah those two are not that fast enough or easy to use. Lucky shot and crit damage won't effect spores, so just aim for high ROF. I found it easier to use injectors over submachine guns.

Note: Go for rainbow if you do not want to aim.

what about cloud weaver and gloves?

Cloud weaver is way too slow, so don't use for this build. Gloves are descent, but be aware about the nature of these weapons. A single beam counts as one attack and there are times when you might only plant a single spore or times when you will plant 100 with a single bullet.

So should you upgrade the shotgun or fast firing main weapon? I've heard both recommended.

Don't be sleeping on monke, I completely shredded with a Rainbow/Argus spore build because I had the monke-exclusive Weapon Mastery ascension which gave Argus an extra 75% projectiles... which also applied to Rainbow, which kinda let me double-up for spores.

You want to upgrade your shotgun since it will give you a larger boost in dmg.
Plant spore dmg = (Base DMG of Weapon 1 + Base DMG of Weapon 2)/projectiles of both weapons * 20.

Let's say you have a Rainbow and an Argus

Plant spore dmg = (30 + 82x13)/14*20 = 1565.7 base spore damage

Each upgrade to the craftsman adds 15% base weapon damage.

Rainbow upgrade once = 1572.1 base spore dmg which is about 0.41% increase spore dmg per upgrade

If you upgrade the Argus once = 1794.1 spore base dmg which is about 14.6% increase to spore dmg per level.

Looking at these numbers it is quite clear the each upgrade to the Argus gives a far more significant boost to strength than the rainbow.

Do spray weapons apply spores directly?

I thought that got patched out or something

I just wanna take this time to thank you for being a regular poster here. You're extremely knowledgeable about the finer details of the game and your explanations are easy to follow. So thanks for hanging around here and answering all sorts of questions. :^)
