Mod support.
Hello everyone! Now this might be a dumb question and over-asked, but I've not seen it here yet.

So I love doing R7, it's much harder and I can pump out more damage, what I'd like to see is some way to be able to do 4 player R7, but solo, if that makes any sense. Sort of like how RoR2 has a mod that you can make it like a 16 player difficulity if you want.

That's pretty much all I want, or more reincarnation levels works too. I don't know about mod support for this game, but I assume that it won't be happening anytime soon.

Happy weekend :)

modding is possible for this game.
This may be a shock to some but modding often has a negative connotation in Asian cultures. It's very possible that the dev team may view modding as an infringement on their intellectual property, and we've yet to get a statement from the dev team on this. For the time being, on the discord and reddit at least, we strictly prohibit discussion of modding so I wouldn't be too optimistic on the topic of modding.

Would love to see modding and I'm not sure why the devs would be against mods. The reason the discord prohibits mod talk is probably so to not spread them while they're not officially supported, but when and if mod support gets added it'll no longer be prohibited in the discord.

Also that sounds very unreasonable for the devs to see modding as infringement on their IP, like the only way that could be seen that way is if modders actually made money on their mods, but they don't so there's no reason for the devs regardless of culture to get angry about mods.

cultural views are largely hard to understand from people outside of that culture and if you are part of a culture that shares those views you likely don't need an explanation so you don't really have one to give when asked. if something is offensive it is largely based on an emotional standpoint rather than a rational standpoint and changing someone's mind regarding things they have emotional values associated with is far harder than a purely rational debate, I very much hope it's simply a matter of wanting to finish the game properly before introducing the idea of modded content rather than mods not being added for cultural reasons as I find mods to be a fun and intersting way to extend long-term playability of a game. I really would like to see mods for this game on the steam workshop at some point.

I think I can kind of see how some might see modding as an offense depending on how you feel towards it.

For example, someone could be like "Hey I love your game, would love to mod it!' could be interpreted as "Hey, I love you game ,cept for this, this and this and I want to change it, please let me easily rip and modify your game you've worked so hard on"

To be honest, I have sometimes kind of felt like a an ass when asking about mod support on indie games just for that reason since I know not everyone is as open to the idea of other people altering their hard work.

I just like to run around in games with a character model of my own ; u;

If the dev was open minded i feel like itd be perfectly fair to say it. They should be able to recognize the shortcomings in their game, so if they didnt like that you asked about modding thats on them.

Culturally, it's a lot more complex than just "It's their fault for getting offended", or devs being closed-minded.

Dude, nobody cares
People want mod integration and the game would be better with it
That's it
If they have a problem with it that's just their problem and they deserve to be called out, as far as I can see this "culture" problem is nothing more of an excuse, not that we have many other games for reference anyway...

This.. this is why some games are region locked :D
the first step to showing support for a game is by paying for it.
the second step is by respecting the devs. this is a blatant disregard for someones culture. not workplace motive. rude.

The first thing you said is a blatant lie. Anyone who's ever spend any amount of time modding knows that the people who are the most prolific modders in any game community are usually russian or asian.

It truly doesn't. I think Gunfire Reborn mods would be cool...
