You can do a lot of builds but you are mostly settled what way to go after the first ~3 goblets because there is no need to play spray and pray builds if you only get expolsive perks ^^.If everything comes togheter you laugh at the birds survivability but if you have an "okay" run you fall behind cat and bird and if you have very bad rng start over and forget that run :D.
He's insanely powerful with Crimson Firescale + Lightning Blast. He'll tear through anything that doesn't have armor, and once the armor is gone on armored targets, destroy their health bar.
The best build for him is to FULLY upgrade:
- Dual Wield Timer- When fully upgraded, every 20 ammo consumed adds time to the timer. If you're using the two weapons I mentioned, this means INFINITE dual wielding as long as your ammo lasts. Try picking up an Ammo Belt for 2x ammo capacity, and Bullet Bank, so all ammo pickups go to your current weapons.
- Less Damage During Dual Wield- When fully upgraded, when you take fatal damage during Dual Wield, you lose Dual Wield time instead of dying. This means if you fully upgraded Dual Wield Timer, you literally cannot die as long as you keep shooting. I've literally held still in place against the final boss and just held my mouse button down, and obliterated him. No need to dodge anything anymore.
- Ammo Recovery- Recover Ammo while dual wielding. Fully upgraded, you'll recover ammo quicker than you can use it in dual wield. Again, if you upgraded the previous two all the way (those two are priority), you literally never have to reload or anything, just keep shooting.
When not dual-wielding, just bank firescale bombs by hitting crits with Crimson, and you'll obliterate red health bars without needing dual wield. Explosion bonuses apply, of course.
So let's talk about dogs strengths, his weaknesses, and how to utilize them. Obviously Ao Bais key components are his dualwield and his . So the way you utilize Ao Bai is by making use of his dual wield. The first thing you need to determine at the very start of every dog run is whether or not you're doing explosives. If you're new to dog especially you need a hard answer here out of the gate.
Explosive builds tend to put themselves together because they're definitely some of the most straightforward builds in the game. The explosive weapons are clearly outlined and the ascensions you take and way you play is pretty straightforward.
For nonexplosive builds you mostly just take the best weapon drops that aren't explosive. It's a much more broad approach and as a result requires much more game knowledge. Even if you are speccing into explosives I would try to find strong single target damage weapons as you approach bosses to help deal with them. In terms of what weapons you should take I won't comment. Though I know what the current meta looks like, the meta is ever evolving and the way it will look 4 weeks from now may be significantly different from how it is now.
I'm gonna have to disagree with this. Ao Bai is the most powerful character simply because of dualwielding and the ascensions. Let alone the WR time uses Ao Bai as well.
I like how you made a tier list for the heros. They all have a chance to be extremely powerful given the right combos :)
i did win an elite game using a thunder glove and a hell shotgun with fire element and head shots cause corrosion explosions, though i think anyone could make that work.
i will look more into specking hard into dual weild or explosive
All char can be op given the right weapon ascension and scrolls combo, however imo doggo is more rng dependant than cat, and bird even more.
About doggo specifically, you can build him 3 ways, and most likely will do a mix of two depending on ascensions :
You can go full explosives radius and damage, and play with grenades, tiger, bone dragon, shark, justice etc, and have pretty easy runs cuz you just blow everything up 50m around at once.
You can build for perma dual wield with any weapons if you get either ammo regen ascension, or the scroll combo (ammo regen on hit + picked up ammo transformed to match equipped weapon). When going for this i find best to equip different elements in each hand, id suggest fire and shock for manipulation when solo, fire and acid for big dots when multi.
Then you can build to just be a big tank and soak up all the damage for your team. Bonus points if you drop flesh&meat, fire immune and fire life leach. Then you can pretty much stnad in front of ennemies, keep spraying them with fire while they focus on you and your team kills them. With any rapid fire weapon you'll leech back more than you cna get hit for, except one shots oopsies like snipers, some boss attacks etc.
I find the cat is less rng heavy because most of his ascensions can be used with multiple setups, while with dog you gotta either bet on ascensions and get what you hoped for, or be lucky on scrolls. And i find bird even more rng dependant, cuz if you dont have base cleave dmg early, you basically have little to no weapon bonus, a useless e and u can only regen. Which ok is cool, but running in circles for hours, kiting enemies and hitting them every clip to regen is not really my cup of tea in such a fast paced game.
Idk another combo then cleave stack for bird, but for cat i almos always build orb and some element, and go either tlisman max crit, or "one tap build" : max the %dmg after orb ascension, all ele or specific ele dmg, get first & last bullet in clip scroll, and hopefully at least 1 more orb charge. Then take any tiger, bow or sniper, throw orb, hit once and watch your new dmg record appear.
Hope it helps, gl&hf :)
