The default game mode is single player though

Just toggle Matching off. It pairs you with others if on.

What do you find difficult about single player vs. multi-player? I switch between the two modes depending on if I'm gaming by myself or not, and frankly, I find solo play easier. It really helps that health amounts are tuned to a single player, so it's really only based on my own performance. The one downside that can be problematic is something that I encounter in games that have single player and co-op components, and that is resurrections. When playing by yourself, your only option is to use your own upgrade currency to resurrect, but in multi-player, you can have another player resurrect you. It's a definite advantage that I do enjoy at times. It reminds me a bit of when I was playing Magicka and how much easier it was to play with someone else rather than only getting a single revive.

Honestly I feel like you're going to have a harder time when playing multiplayer. Funnily enough I see a lot of people agree solo is generally easier, which I also agree with. Enemies are ridiculously squishy (even bosses to be honest) whereas when you play with even one other person everything gets sooo much more tankier. To be honest, I actually hope they kind of look into multiplayer balancing more soon, since compared to solo it's way more work.

I have beaten it solo on elite its not to hard... level up and it makes it easy
lollars Oct 11, 2020 @ 11:09pm
it is already easier for solo player

Solo nightmare is too random I feel like. I really struggle to beat the game unless I get good drops, especially during Act 1.

The rogue-like / rogue-lite genre games are almost always extremely hard at the begining. You have to get a feel for the game: controlls, enemies attack patterns, guns, you name it!
And the leveling system of this game is extra steep at the start as well.

You just have to power through the frustration of dying a couple of times, and before you know it, singleplayer will be the easiest game mode to play (not easy by any means though).

That said, the faster you can swith your mindset to "dying is just a part of the game" the better for your mental well being :D

that how this genre works

1. This is a rogue-like. You will die over and over again until you're good enough to overcome the bad odds. You need player skill and you need to level up your talents to beat the game.

2. This is a coop game. It's designed to be played with 2-4 people. That means it's best if played with friends in Discord.

3. If you don't have friends to play this game with, use the "Matching" option. Most people I've met so far were friendly and nice to play with. The ingame chat is enough to communicate, no need for voice chat.

my issue is i have no life when i get to the boss or its not really hard

In my gameplay so far Ive noticed that there does seem to be a pretty distinct difference between the difficulty of multiplayer vs single player, rest of it is chance though (ex: items you have, talents, levels)

i felt the fact taht you can be revived is a huge deal because you dont die because of bad luck as you say or the variables i still stand on my own opinion about it being too hard .. had we gotten more lifes during the game it might have been more balanced
