You'll level up naturally and then souls won't matter to you at all, just play the game imo l.
Maybe it's different to me, as I've been max level for quite a while now. Souls are completely worthless. Getting to that point took maybe a few days just playing after work; it's really not hard to max out.
Efficiency to me is knowing how to take down each enemy the fastest, prioritizing targets, piecing together builds on the fly, etc. That knowledge is something that lasts.
Now that I've maxed progression, I pretty much do a run or two every few days just for fun while I wait for them to bring out new content or characters. I can only imagine that grinding out souls as fast as possible will just bring you to the point where you feel like you've got nothing left to do faster.
Plenty of room to learn to play the game after getting leveled up. In fact that is implied when you first start playing the game by how you can die easily. Of course the farming idea is going to be a thing.
