Promising Indeed.
The gameplay has elements that are SIMILAR like from RoR2, visual's look like BL2/3 style with elements (shock, corrosive, fire, etc) in mind as well.
With RoR2, there's obviously tons of powerups, GFRB only has a handful as obviously it's in early access. One more thing, the difficulty does remind me monsoon 2nd half in the game (imo) so RNG is heavily dependent.
I love this game because you still get to shoot, and blow stuff up with different variety of weapons and elements. Don't forget the Skill tree that you can upgrade that applies to your character when you restart (extra HP, +DMG on weapons, etc)
Honestly this game worth your 10 buck (and even though it would cost 30$ still worth :d)
The shooting in both also vary. First vs Third person. GfR has skill based crits (headshots) and multiple different weapons to use. RoR2 reaches bullet hell levels of gameplay, throwing huge levels of enemies at you. I'm only a few hours in, but I'm not sure if GfR gets there.
Overall, if you enjoy shooting stuff and rogue-like elements, you will likely enjoy both games, but Gunfire Reborn feels very different from Risk of Rain 2. This is ultimately a good thing, as you can jump back and forth between both games to enjoy their various strengths.
