Ao Bai is just way better than Crown Prince

It's my 2nd time playing him and i'm already killing bosses in like 20 seconds with his dual wielding, this is on a run where i have like 4 explosion damage ascensions and not making use of them.

i do the same as crown prince and i prefer it, i think crown prince is more consitent overall the fact that he has an element on a spamable grenade is way more interesting, where ao bai grenade are so useless pass second stage, but yes his dual wielding is pretty good and do a nice job. ao bai need overall better weapon and don't have decent tool to burn mass pack of enemies where crown prince shine, but aobai is a bit better at killing boss faster but not safer with his poor shield pool and the lack of survivability without good scroll. just my thought.

edit : if ao bai grenade would burn enemies, he will be over the cat

Once you unlock Ao Bai at level 30 he'll carry you until you unlock more stuff and get a few good normal and elite runs under your belt.

Once you unlocked most scrolls, weapons and battle related talents, the Crown Prince pretty much becomes near unstoppable and a lot more consistent that Ao Bai overall. His grenades deal a ton of damage, inflict decay which can then immediately be combo'd with either fire or lightning for stupid damage and he can shut down immediate threats with his orb and burst them down.
He can take down HORDES of enemies in a couple seconds and bosses don't last much longer thanks to elemental combos.

Have to disagree. Crown prince just feels way more consistent and seems to have better ascension options overall. His grenade gives him a real easy time dealing with hordes and before we even factor in elemental combos the decay shuts a lot of enemies down entirely at every stage of the run.

His higher shield also makes him more resilient in general and his damage bonuses on elemental effects are really solid. His power also shuts down lot's of stuff at all stages of the game and can lock down large enemies like sharks long enough to deal without them before they become a real problem.

Dogboy can be INSANNNNNNE with the right set up. but catman is better overall, IMO. Doggies biggest issue, is that you cant use alt fire wheile DWing. being able to DW a single Justice, or 2, would make him insane.The harder the game gets, the more kittiedude climbs ahead .

Ao Bai's consistency is little bit less, but his potential dwarfs that of Crown Prince.

Ao Bai relies more on his raw output which can either be (Depending on your Ascensions and Weapons.) a whole lot less then Crown Prince, but his sheer overwhelming damage output when he gets what he needs is actually ludicrous.

He is the reason I killed the 2nd boss in 4 seconds, haven't managed it with Crown Prince yet.

you know whats great about this game already? both are incredibly viable for whatever style you like, both characters can be incredibly strong if you know what youre doing with them.

i think both characters are kings of their own kingdoms
elemental builds on crown prince (specially fire or corrosion) can be insane while Ao Bai is strong in his own way with explosives or combo'ing certain weapons together
Ao Bai is raw power while Crown prince is insane utility or elemental

Ao Bai has ALOT of bugs in his builds , like infinite ammo , infinite dual wielding is bugged even if you hit both perks maxed out.

Eh it's debatable, Crown Prince is a lot more effective with elements which can get some absolutely insane output when you get some key parts put together (Elemental Weave and Gemini's that make your guns share elements is beautiful). Ao Bai definitely has a lot more "generalist" use since he's good with a lot more things though.

Cat - safe and solid choise, but it has mostly one side builds - grenads + chains in control time + elemental weapon. It is very hard to get killed in solo and very supportive in party.
Dog - absolutly glass cannon. You can take ANY perks, any guns and still do tonn of dmg, but if you do not get 2-3 special scrolls for surviveability your run will be ended on monks, snipers, sharks or lobsters. Or whenever else you caught 1 random shot from behind.

For me they both are really op... if you get party of 2. Cat do control and debuffs, dog do dmg. And you can change scrolls, so cat probably will get 1 hp and dog 0 shield much faster.

For me
Dog is great if I am a lucker dog.
Otherwise Cat is just much more versatile when I don't get all the pieces of Exodia.
