The music files are indeed in the wrong order, you have to download GTAFixer from GTAMP https://gtamp.com/gta1/, extract the gtafixer exe to the root of gta, and run it and press Y, to rename the music files to correct ones, tho you can also rename the files yourself if you want, GTAMP lists what files you have to rename. GTAFixer also fixes the Player_A.DAT file, which is your save file, on some systems GTA 1 won’t run after the first time, because the file gets corrupted, gtafixer fixed that, some say you have to run gtafixer before you run GTA, but for me, i’ve only ever had to run it once, and thats it.
Then the music cutting off, is caused by a broken mss32 dll, you have to download an updated one from GTAForums https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto#Radio_goes_silent_after_a_while_.28Steam.2FRockstar_Classics_version.29, then replace the default one in the WINO folder with that, now you should have all these fixed.
For a simpler fix, you can use gta max pack, but if you wanna play the Classics ver, this is what you gotta do.
Hope it helps.
Or narzoul, or wined3d or many else wrappers.
The reason the game flickers is that the resolution is set by default to 16bit. It must be on 32bit resolution. Press F11. And use the arrow keys to select the proper resolution. Then press enter.
If nothing in Nv panel help with this (for me either) - set Intel device for gta exe.
Not sure which ones wrappers\DxWnd\Wined3d\etc will help. It is not Windows compatibility issue, it is Nvidia compatibility issue. I didnt try anything - i set Intel. gta.mp pr PCW i guess provide alternative solutions.
But if you use dgvoodoo2. You can fix the screen flicker.
Step 1. Download the latest version of DgVoodoo2.
Step 2. Once it`s done downloading. Drag DgVoodoCpl.exe and the .conf file in where the .exe file is located.
Step 3. Open the MS folder. Then go to x86 (Because x64 probably won`t work). Drag the .dll files into the game directory (In the x86 folder.)
Step 4. Right click on DgvoodooCpl.exe Go to properties > compatibility then tick the box
"Run this program as an administrator" Because if you just double click it and opened up normally. It wouldn`t work. Once done. Click apply then close the window.
Step 5. Open DgVoodooCpl.exe, Click yes if it asks for administrator permission. Then go to the DirectX tab. Set your desktop resolution. (For example your resolution is 1920x1080 or 2560x1440. Then you set it to that resolution. Basically. The lowest on the list is the one you wanna go with) Also untick the box "Show DgVoodoo Watermark" Because if you don`t then the watermark will be on the bottom right side and it will be really annoying. Don`t mess with the VRam option. Once done. Click Apply then OK.
And there you go. You can now run GTA 1 without the flickering issue.
(Let me know if the issue still persists)
