what does this have to do with it? Google was still small when GTA came out and worked under GLADE on a 3DFX graphics accelerator

or are you not a reader but only a writer? and there were no cubes. question-how to configure a modern graphics card, what would the image become better?

im not talking about when they released obviously :steamfacepalm:
im talking about the last 6/7 years now, ive come here to only see the same thing repeated by many people, asking how to buy a game that was made free by the developer.

the game was made to run in something like 640x480 and to always stretch, so its never gonna look amazing by todays standards but thats part of its charm.
you can run in it 1024x768 stretched 32bit by selecting it with F11 while in game. its the highest supported resolution for the game.

gtamp.com/

theres a lot of useful information available on these sites.

check out the links above there are fixes for widescreen resolutions that i believe allow stretching to higher resolutions but whether or not this is a better image is down to personal preference really.

I don't get it. Why do these games have a Steam Store page then?

I wouldn't mind buying both of the first two games on Steam myself. Though it seems unlikely from what I have seen.

Because they were available on Steam through a pack in the past. I have both GTA and GTA2 on Steam. These days this is impossable.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This really should be stickied at the top of both games' forums.

Once I download the games where do I get the Steam code to add the steam version to my account? Anyone can google and find these for free. I want the steam versions to be linked to my account and as far as I can tell just downloading them off of a website won't link the steam versions to my account.

Why the ♥♥♥♥ does Steam have pages for games you can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get on steam?!?!

They were given away by Rockstar at one point under that "Classics" label, I think there were one or two other games as well. I'm assuming this is a mirror of those previously free versions.
i want them in my library thats why
