Emu not steering with controller!
I used to own this on PS2 and recently picked this up again on Ebay, thankfully it works with Win 7. Anyway, I don't know why but my steering doesn't work for ONLY the Emu. I can't do some of the races without using that car. Has anyone else experienced this phenomena and know what to do to fix it?

EDIT: I have tried different things, using the keyboard, d-pad vs. analog sticks. It's really weird, I can very rarely get the car to steer, but only after 5+ seconds of burning out, and even then it doesn't hold the direction. I don't have this problem with any other car; I have even tried putting in the cheat to open up all cars, and still it only applies to the Emu.

What FPS is MC2 running at, when you are having these steering problems with the Emu? If it is 144 FPS or higher, that is a possible cause.

I tested out the Emu on my own Windows 7 PC just now and drove all around the city, including several trips through the Hollywood Hills area. I noticed that the Emu definitely has less responsive steering than the initial starting car, but I never lost control completely the way you and Cybercism have been having trouble with.

However, there is a video that demonstrates how the MC2's physics behaves differently depending on what FPS the game is running at. It was designed to run at a capped 30 FPS, and the higher you go beyond that, the more problems arise.

Although the video only found problems with top speed and damage, it also only tested up to 100 FPS. I suspect that going far beyond that frame rate may introduce steering problems as well.

you don't need the emu to continue into career mode, but that is seriously weird.

You are right! When the FPS jumped into 600-800, I couldn't steer. WOW! I could still manage to turn in 400fps.

Thank you for getting back to me even so late after making this post!
