Max Payne 2 Strange Square box

For some reason in my max payne 2 their is a strange square black transparent box in the middle of the my screen i have the wide screen fix installed and payne evolution just wondering how to fix it.

I had the same issue as you and just found out what worked for me. What I had to do was just install the evolution mod and nothing else. DO NOT install reshade and sweet fx. The widescreen fix is included in the mod and you don't have to install that separately. I would reinstall the game fresh because you might still have folders and files that was screwing it up still in there. So make sure before you reinstall that you delete the Max Payne 2 folder in steamapps\common because it will still have all the other reshade stuff you don't need still installed.
