Not sure what you mean by pre Cd check.
When max Payne 2 first hit pc, it had a CD check, as it was not sold digitally, when it came to steam, rather than rockstar patching out the check, they just used a earlier debug build that never had the check added
Interesting. I've just finished Part I without any troubles on Windows 10 (except having to set CPU Affinity to 1 core as Max runs on his own at times).
how did you set the affinity to 1?
I thought that R* straight up used one of the no-cd cracks found online and called it a day.
