Max Payne 2 Periodic Freezing
While playing Max Payne 2 it freezes for a split second every 8 seconds. This makes it impossible to play. I run a higher end gamin PC, and I've adjusted settings all evening with no effect, can someone please help?

I don't know for sure but it must be a 3rd party/unofficial patch for compatibility with newer systems like windows 10, bud.

Do you have it installed on an HDD or SSD? I experience a slight stutter whenever a new line of dialogue is being loaded (from NPCs in like the police station) but I have it installed on an HDD.

I always had the game on HDD and it never stutters, so its a compatibility issue. tested yesterday,

Thanks for the input. I gave up and purchased the inferior PS2 version of the game.

Stuttering at 60fps, 1080p (or greater) vs 480p if that and 30fps? Plus ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller input? OK.

All issues are because carbage Windows.
Game files itself are not broken.

All you need to read older games negative (XP era...) reviews on Steam.

New modern games runs ok on Windows. Older has issues.

Quite often.

Maybe, but I don't have enough issues with them to uproot my OS and suck Linux's tiny ♥♥♥♥. That's the thing with PC gaming, negative reviews based on performance are subjective, because everyone's PC is different.

Talking as compatibility issues with old software on windows 10 was a new thing...

I have this game with the widescreen fix and maybe something else that i don't remember, no single problem.

For some reason if you enable and mess with the developer options your inputs get blociked somehow, other than that, it works perfectly.

Some time ago i did have a problem were the game didn't start at all but i managed to find a solution. Sorry for not being any help but the fact is that theres a solution.

Only running Alchemy for better sound, changed the NvidiaInspector profile to allow super sampling and have it locked to 160 fps. And the game runs flawless on windows 10 via hdd.
