I'm am really ill-versed in computing and technology.
So what your saying is that if i have these files just delete them (For MP 1), and the sound will work?
2) how does one use compatability mode for Steam games? I have literally looked and don't know how to possibly do it!
Any help would be greatly appreaciated!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
rename Max payne 1 and max payne 2 FOLDERS to maxpayne and maxpayne2 (basically get rid of the spaces in the title) and delete dsound.dll files IF they are there. Otherwise you will have to install the max payne patch to get sound, if all else fails. Even if you do install the max payne patch MAXBATCH (GOOGLE Max payne 1 sound patch), delete the dsound.dll files anyway, its a conflict with Windows 8 and EAX from Creative. Windows 8 doesnt use the old sound files anymore.
it should work on any OS. including 8.
Unfortunately my Max Payne files do not contain the aforementioned files :(
