Full Screen Fix (Win 10)
Don't worry your little heads, I have found the fix for the game showing in windowed rather than full screen (this also works on other games that do this too, like Broken Sword 4) It was Broken Sword 4 that i downloaded from GOG.com that got me testing how to make it full screen and this simple fix also works on Max Payne 1 and Max Payne 2....

Follow these instructions -

To begin with for newbies, by pressing CTRL, ALT and DELETE... This will bring up your "Task manager"

1) Whilst on desktop (not in game) bring up your task manager and make sure on "options" it is ticked on "Always show on top"

2) exit Task manager and open the Max payne game as normal.

3) once the game is open, press CTRL, ALT & DELETE to bring up Task manager

4) Now go to options on Task Manager and click on "Always show on top" so it is unticked

5) Find Max Payne on the "process" list and click the arrow on the left of it.

6) Then on the Max payne that shows below the original Max Payne, right click and press "Maximise"

7) The game will now be Full screen, move your mouse as far to the right as you can and click to make sure it isnt clicking the Task Manager
Thats running in the background.....

And Taaa-Daaa you can now enjoy the game in Full screen.

A little bit of a pain this has to be done everytime but it's quite a simple workaround.

EQUATION

An easier way to immediately bring up the Task Manager
Ctrl-Shift-Esc
just spreading the good word. :steamhappy:

Worked for me - thanks!
And thanks for ctrl-shift-esc too, didn't work in this particular case for me, but it's a useful shortcut to know!

The best fix by far I've seen for both games:

Just run the Compatibility Troubleshooter and set it to Windows XP mode. Fixes it forever!
