stuck on cutscene part 1 chapter 7

the cutscene is where an elevator goes up after chasing conchelli and it just stays in the cutscene

did you limit fps? most bugs like this happen when fps is way too high for the old game.

All this does is display my fps, how do I actually limit the frames

Either in the display driver settings, or with msi afterburner, or you install the 2022 patch, that way it will obey windows vsync settings. if you have a high refresh rate monitor you might have to set the refreshrate lower, like 144hz or below.

Or force V-Sync via Nvidia Control Panel or the equivalent.

Follow the two comments above you. You need to force V-Sync via your GPU control panel (whichever is the equivalent) so the game will run on 60 FPS, download a widscreen fix and copy (and replace if asked) its files into the game's directory. Additionally, install @darkje's FixPack.

Ok cool I’ll try to go at it again. I tried yesterday and it coukdnt get it right. I wish they’d fix this lol

Their version of fixing this is by remaking the whole game

Just carefully follow @darkje's guide and you should definitely get the game running flawlessly.

ok cool thanks bro. jsut am trying to find a widescreen fix with the mpm. installed one w/o one into the max payne file and it didnt let me choose the "customized game" at the bottom.

I'm not sure nor aware of any mods which already come with a pre-installed widescreen fix. You simply download, unpack and take all the files to the game's folder: https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=59094

google rivatuner install it and run the statistics server. there you can set your max fps. max payne has issues if it runs above 60 fps.
