Pure Max Payne 1. Bought the game on steam in 2020 or 2021, and it didn't say or looked remastered. But if Rockstar made a remastered version of Max Payne, it would probably be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like the old GTA Remasters which they made, plus the original game would be taken off steam.

Remakes are being worked on by Remedy, "in partnership with Rockstar games"
I don't know if that means Rockstar will help with development or that they just gave them their blessing, which Remedy needs because they sold the rights to Rockstar. I would assume it's the latter.

Anyway, Remedy is still releasing really good games today, which means they care about that they do, so really looking forward to it.

JUST entered production state though, so expect them in 2-3 years probably.

They have most of the assets already between control and a large section of Alan Wake 2 takes place in a neo-noire-esque new york, they already know the story and have the existing games to reference, it could actually be sooner.

they aren't "working" with rockstar per-say, rockstar owns the max payne IP (since max payne 2) so they had to work out a deal with rockstar in order to be allowed to make the games. The game is being made by remedy, in remedys in-house engine, published on PC by remedy, and published by rockstar for consoles. rockstar is funding the game and remedy will get royalties based on sales AFTER rockstar recoups the money they put into it.
