Max Payne

Max Payne

You need to cap the framerate at 60 for this game to run properly.
If this game is running at any framerate higher than that, you start to get bugs that make certain action basically impossible. Walls and Doors will also stick to you, especially in slow-motion. Nvidea inspector worked for my rig, but avoid my mistake of not fixing this before I got to the last act.

I played with Proton enabled, 165fps / 1600x1200 vsync locked. Zero issues.

yea the issue comes when you get over a few hunderd fps (with no vsync) and then there is a small issue with windows10 no obeying the vsync settings for dx8, so that is where some alternate way of capping comes in. you can use a directx wrapper, nvidia inspector, rtss and probably some other methods, it doesn't matter what as long as you keep them low-ish and prevent 100's or 1000's of frames per sec.

How do you guys fix undetected graphic card?
Like...I want to run this game with my Nvidia G-Card not with the integrated Intel card...could any of you help me please?

yea install the 2020 fix with dgVoodoo wrapper, after that you will find a program called dgVoodooCpl in your max payne game folder, run it. There on the 'general' tab you will find a setting 'adapter(s) to use/enable'... select your preferred adapter there, and press OK

now when you run the game it should be on the adapter you selected.

I would recommend 30 instead. 60 FPS is still kind of broken.

I played through the entire game in 237 FPS.
Only issue was when Gognitti was running from Payne, he failed a jump.
Had to lower it to 60 FPS so that he could scale it, afterwards no real issues (slightly sticking to some walls).
