2 Computers in same LAN
If I purchase this 1 time, can I add it to two of my devices at home, and play against a family member on the same LAN? If yes, then how. If no, then what options do I have?

Thanks you for any feedback.

Steam doesn't allow one copy of the game to be used on two computers at the same time. There's nothing you can do on the game's side but get two copies on different accounts (regardless of Steam/Origin).

It's not even working with 2 accounts.^^
2 different Steam accounts, 2 different pc, 2 different copies of the game.
And we have to play on official servers.
It's working with other games like l4d2 without any issue.

There were other people having similar problems while not on the same network, so I'll recommend this one.

If you're both on the same network then check the DHCP settings and set static IPs (different), & default gateway (same) for both computers and try again.
If you find a successful solution, you should update here as it helps others too.

to play lan with someone in the same house but only bought one copy, with 2 accounts, you have to family share the game and download it to their pc, if they can launch game using your library then they are ready to play, but the owner account will have to launch steam in offline mode, in offline mode it wont kick the other account off the game after 5 minutes. so you can only lan with this one account.
2 chicks at the same time, man.

Thanks guys for all the comments. I did not realize that I had the responses, since Steam did not alert me. Much appreciated. I'm going to first try the family sharing method, with one offline, and one online. I'll report back once I give it a shot.

That's not quite true but also can be.

For example Steam has remote play https://store.steampowered.com/remoteplay

"Using Remote Play Together, one player owns and runs the game, then up to four players — or even more with fast connections — can quickly join in the fun."

Remote play is like streaming your game and others can join in. They can only see what you see. Its mainly for Coop games where everything happens on one screen, Secret of Mana for example.. I doubt that it will work with C&C the way you think.

Just buy a 2. copy and be done with it.

Jep, local MP, like the good old couch coop with split screen. Another game that comes to mind as an example is "Project Zomboid".
